I like how people say that property is the best investment always on the rise etc. But have people considered that with global warming and rising sea level that their properties might be affected? If sea level go up do you think that the property market will go down for coastal or low level land??

Invest on Mars, there aren't any sea-level issues with the Global Warming Mars is experiencing...

No.... however what constitutes coastal land may be a few miles further inland than our current maps show ;)

Well I specialise in Esplanade property here in SA.
I'm about to build my own home right on it.

The thought has crossed my mind.
I will also say that I have noticed a slight rise in sea levels during storm action here.Ive been here for 17 yrs and for the first time in that time saw a sea surge take 2 meters of Sand dune away 7 weeks ago. Never seen that before.

Ive also seen models generated as to the possible amount of sea encroachment.Unless your thinking of buying in the outback it appears you will be hard pressed to know where it could possibly stop.

If this does happen I doubt we will have to worry much about property prices as the social structure of society will have broken down to such an extent that survival will be all that matters.
