Should Mods opinions on thread substance warrant the closing on said threads based on purely the personal call?

Forums work better when left to blossom via theyre own means, Im not pro spam posts, but I am anti over modding...

Theres my grumble....

By the way I left out the company earlier because the actual company or its results had nothing to do with it. The point I was trying to show was that your evaluation on the company back then was based on more rational market operation then your conspiracy theory now.

If "blossom via theyre own means" means the law of the jungle then IMO what you propose will result in a forum with no constructive atmosphere, no content of any value, no basic respect shown for other members and no contributors of any substance. That's not the sort of forum I would like ASF to become, nor is it the kind of forum I think the vast majority of ASF members would like it to become.

We enforce reasonable standards of behaviour. No trolling (which is what you were doing in the thread that was closed), no personal attacks, insults or abuse. You can peruse our code of conduct which you will find a link to at the bottom of every page.

The moderators and I do understand that some discussions get heated, mostly political and religious threads, and we will sometimes not step in immediately in the hope that a minor misunderstanding between two or more members will resolve itself. However, once a thread degenerates into insults and personal attacks and it has become clear that there is no longer any productive discussion occuring then the thread will more than likely be closed. This closure may be temporary or permanent.

I for one thank the Mods on ASF for being active. Being a member of countless forums over the years that have closed due to lack of active moderation I am sure glad we have them.
