Firebrick Pharma Limited (FRE) is an Australian pharmaceutical developer with the mission to develop a nasal spray that kills all the germs (viruses or bacteria) responsible for respiratory infections, such as the common cold.

Founded in 2012 by Dr Peter Molloy and Dr Stephen Goodall, after nearly 10 years of development and testing, Firebrick Pharma's first product - Nasodine® Nasal Spray - is now in the final stages of development.

Nasodine Nasal Spray contains the broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent, povidone-iodine. In clinical studies, Nasodine has been shown to be well-tolerated as a four-times-daily nasal spray. Patents have been filed worldwide on its use as a treatment and preventative for the common cold.

If approved, Nasodine will be a first-in-class nasal spray medicine that targets the cause of colds where they start, in the nose.

It is anticipated that FRE will list on the ASX during January 2022.

Phase 3
Common Cold Trial Results

Firebrick Pharma Limited (ASX:FRE) (Firebrick, Company) announces that trial statisticians have completed their efficacy analysis of the headline results in the Phase 3 trial of Nasodine® Nasal Spray (“Nasodine”) as a treatment for the common cold.

The analysis has shown that the trial did not meet its primary endpoint, which was the impact of Nasodine on overall cold severity (GSS) in subjects with a confirmed viral infection (ITTi).

Based on the reported results, the placebo (sterile water) performed better than Nasodine.

In the QoL (‘quality-of-life’) measure (functional impairment caused by a cold), the results were also in favour of the placebo in the ITTi. Similar enigmatic results were seen in other
population subsets.

• Investigation into Phase 3 trial results completes: Expert study points to
inaccuracies in trial efficacy data and no efficacy conclusions can be drawn
• Firebrick to market Nasodine as a nasal antiseptic/disinfectant with sales
expected to commence in 2024.

I didn't know I needed a nasal disinfectant before, but now at least I have complete confidence that this product has been rigorously tested.

Price action still pales compared to the earlier drop.

As I have picked FRE for the dec Comp, it is one I have been watching and wondering is there a quid to be made here.
Of recent times it has been fluctuating from around 0.055 to 0.90 cents.
For those game enough or willing to take a punt, I think a quick trade will return a profit.
Of course the bigger the SP holding the greater return.
Being in my estimation a penny dreaful it can of course go boom or bust, and I am not that wise to suggest either.
I do have a pending buy in place, but am patiently awaiting the dip to come around again.

My unaudited pick of FRE being my choice again for January.
It is a lemon and a penny dreadful with a slight chance of perhaps rising up off the floor
If it does make a couple of cents lift on its SP then I could be elevated to the stratosphere.
For those game enough jump on board,there may be a ride somewhere , destination unknown.
But as always DYOR..

nice to see they were honest and used sterile water as the placebo , many other trials these days use a comparative treatment as the placebo ( including my experimental stent )

maybe the need a different active ingredient

hadn't noticed this until today

maybe it is 'a watch and learn ' stock

Once again I have chanced my "luck" with FRE for the February Comp. Just a penny dreadful I have stuck with on the very "off-chance" it my raise up to the podium for 1, 2 or 3 finish. A roughie and one never knows.

FRE has a bit of interest being shown. I am holding a number of shares and being wishfully thinking they could rise up from the ashes a bit to give me a cup of coffee and a piece of cake for morning tea somewhere in the near future.

Sold the FRE holding this morning for a mug of coffee profit. If this current SP holds, I may even move slightly higher up the Comp ladder.
