Flaming football: toy fireball banned

Has anyone seen these little 'beanbag'-type balls, the ones you douse in kerosene, set them alight, then kick them around with your friends? There are videos of them on YouTube etc.

Now, I can understand kids wanting to play with them, boys will be boys after all.

What I don't understand, and this is completely beyond me, is why ANY retailer would be selling these things? Do they come with a sticker from the retailer saying "Sue me now, ask me how!" Incredible....

We use to make our own.... get some toilet paper, wrap it in wire (coat hangers/chicken wire) soak them in kero for a few hours then go down to the beach and kick it around for awhile. Good fun.
Its not that much different from the various forms of fire twirling really...

Whne you consider it would have to be discussed with designers, marketers, manufacturers, distributers & stockists, it makes you wonder if anyone actually stopped & thought whether this really was such a good idea.

It's not like Australia has a water shortage & a drought which would make a lost one just as dangerous as a caught one
