OK here is what happened.

Firefox had gotten itself into a dither and seized on me, so closed it down via Windows Task Manager and reopen via the normal route. (This happens from time to time and I always follow the same procedure)

This when the wierdness happens. My good old firefox has amnesia. No bookmarks, no link bar (or whatever you call it) no nothing, everything is gone. It is just a clean slate as if I had just installed it.

WTF! What happened? And how do I get my bookmarks and everything back?

:(:(

Finally! Its the Plunge Protection Team closing you down mate. They want the market to rally and they don't need people like you talking it down.

Oh murther! It's MI6! They're only 200 meters down the road. (true)

I shall expect a visit from men in grey suits at any moment. :eek:

Firefox has probably just created a new profile and is using the new one instead of your old one.

This page explains how to find out if Firefox has created a new profile and how to get your bookmarks and stuff back if this is the problem.

This should help thwart the efforts of MI6.

ASF Counter-Intelligence has foiled MI6.

What has happened is that firefox created a new default profile, so I now have two default profiles.:eek: ...and it will only select the new default.

So what I did was copy the bookmarks into the new default... problem solved.

Many thanks guys. :bowdown::bowdown:

I have commissioned the 10 year old nerd next door to turn the MI6 mainframe into a pile of smoldering plastic and metal, which he assures me he can do with a few deft keystrokes.
