A quick recap of the rules for those not familiar with them:

1. Each entrant may choose one ASX listed stock. Options, warrants and deferred settlement shares are not permitted.

2. Stocks with a price of less than $0.01 are ineligible for the competition, as are stocks that are currently suspended from trading.

3. The winner is the entrant whose selected stock performs the best in percentage terms between February 1 and February 29.

4. The maximum number of entrants in the competition is 100.

The competition winner will receive $100. The second placegetter will win $50 and the third placegetter $25.

You have until midnight on Sunday, January 31 to enter. However, in practice, entries can be submitted until this thread is closed. No entries submitted after that can be accepted for any reason.

Please post your entries in this thread. Remember, once you have selected your stock, you CANNOT change it for any reason.

Best of luck to all entrants! :D

Please don't forget to post a brief reason explaining why you chose your competition entry. One or two sentences is enough (feel free to add a chart if your reason is TA based). If your entry is the same as the previous month and the reason for choosing it is the same then feel free to just post the same explanation again. Thank you!

I'll go with LPE thanks :D

Strong financials, way ahead of set targets, rapid expansion in progress...

WEC White Energy, thanks Joe

Involved mainly in coal upgrading in America and coal fines in South Africa. Wrong things to be in but have a profitable sideline in meat and wool in Ingomar at Phillipson, far north South Australia.

Why the hell go for WEC that has one of the worse performances, share price wise, for a surviving company in Australia - down 97.5%. Well, they have a court case in Singapore that is the first case, similar to Arbitration, dealt with there, and rumours have it that a final decision will be arrived at in February 2016.
Bayan winning the case for compensation plus costs, in a counter claim, would be a disaster for White Energy. Winning for a sum anywhere near that claimed, about A$1.1 billion, would be a turn up for the book and maybe send the shares into the stratosphere - basically, it is an out and out gamble.

BAR thanks Joe,

Volume up after a couple of years sideways. Gold also strengthening so these elements could see this goldie do well in February.

HAV thanks Joe.

Revised mine plan targets first Portia gold ore early in April, three months ahead of schedule.

CSL for me Joe
It has recently recommended by one financial newsletter who also recommended TPI and got 40 % reduction
I am aiming to top on short sales competition as all my tips go down the hill
So this one does the same I will not be offended

CCF please Joe. New development in sustainable dairy farming. Already seen a strong spike in SP and hopefully will continue.

BUD - Buddy Platform
thanks Joe.

At relisting (backdoor IPO at the end of December), there has been some fanfare, and the chart jumped from 14 to 24c. Since then it's drifted back to the bottom of the trading range (Darvas Box). Today's candle shaped up as a bottom reversal Doji Cross (aka Morning Star), which may well start a new leg up.

According to the latest Quarterlies (out today) they should have enough cash to last them for a few more quarters; therefore I expect some more fanfare in coming weeks which may well underpin the Technical optimism.

CNW - Quarterly released this week has shown improvement, with the new acquisition yet to materially contribute. Management appears to be doing the right things and landing deals for managed services division. Might attract some early buying and break out of the low 3's/mid 4's consolidation.

EDE thanks Joe

Test results for Edencrete have been very encouraging, and these will be displayed in a stand at a concrete convention in Vegas in early February. May attract a few punters.

This is supported by recent approval from Georgia Dept of Transport evaluation committee, plans to expand production of carbon nanotubes (CNT), and interesting further research into other applications for CNT by Australian universities. More in their 1/4ly report release late yesterday.

Eden seem to be in a good space at the moment, and I am hoping for continued momentum.

STO for me.

Timing is everything here, low oil prices has seen massive drop in share price. I'm betting on this being oversold due to the 'oil price shock' scare since beginning of the year.

Probably priced a bit too high for my liking (would've preferred $2.5-2.8 range) but there's still a possibility for a recovery to $3.4-$3.6.

AVB thanks Joe. After backing AVB for the last few years, time for things to happen. The quarterly report was positive and they will be producing copper soon.

Iggy

HCT Holista , thanks

Biotech company into collagen and something about a low GI bread. Hopefully like the bread it will be on the rise.

MMJ - Thanks Joe.

The good "dope" on this chart, is that the price has started to rise. The ascending triangle pattern is plain enough to see without smoking anything.
