Good morning all, and welcome to the February 2014 stock tipping competition entry thread! :)

A quick recap of the rules for those not familiar with them:

1. You MUST have a minimum of 10 posts to enter.

2. Each entrant may choose one ASX listed stock. Options, warrants and deferred settlement shares are not permitted.

3. Stocks with a price of less than $0.01 are ineligible for the competition, as are stocks that are currently suspended from trading.

4. The winner is the entrant whose selected stock performs the best in percentage terms between February 1 and February 28.

5. The maximum number of entrants in the competition is 100.

The competition winner will receive $100. The second placegetter will win $50 and the third placegetter $25.

You have until midnight on Friday, January 31 to enter. However, in practice, entries can be submitted until this thread is closed. No entries submitted after that can be accepted for any reason.

Those who qualify, please post your entries in this thread. Remember, once you have selected your stock, you CANNOT change it for any reason. Also, you must be qualified when you enter.

Each month we usually have some members who do not qualify for the competition but enter anyway. If someone who has selected a stock hasn't yet qualified for the competition, their stock is officially up for grabs! Just mention it when you post your entry.

Best of luck to all entrants! :D

UNX please Joe, hopefully an announcement over the next few weeks on how much Graphite they have

PBT

Trial results known in March and I believe the drug will work.

MGX please

Dividend-paying (next one in March) nice little earner, I'll take the chance that it may break out before end of January; but it's also possible that the Bullish Flag extends by one more leg down into the low 80's.

Thanks Joe :)

TPD for me thanks, Joe.

Results of the Bonner 1H proof of concept oil well should come out in February (unless they come out this month). If the results are good it's sure to be a company maker. I'm holding a reasonable parcel so if it's a good producer I'll do very well, and if that makes me win a prize here I promise to spend the money on a bottle of something nice to celebrate :xyxthumbs

BCT thx joe sold down to 0.075 from

To start in the USA & asia BCT is one
To watch in the future
Tigerboi

PHK Please Joe

Because I'm silly enough to look at a maybe long term story in a monthly competition. Also silly enough to own a small parcel of this one.

FAR’s African story is ready to unfold
• Board and management with significant E&P experience
• Large African asset base (9 licences in West and East Africa)
• 7 + billion barrel prospect inventory
• Two major farm out deals offshore Senegal in 2013
• Free carried through drilling of two wells testing 1.5 billion barrels
• Drilling commencing February 2014
• 3 additional African wells in next 18 months
• $25M in cash plus $5M in Q4

FAR Limited is the largest holder of exploration licences of any ASX listed oil and gas entity in Africa and has first mover advantage.

Kenya
FAR holds two highly prospective licences with strong farm-out potential in the heart of the Lamu Basin. Kenya's exciting and fast emerging oil and gas margin is drawing the attention of major international players, with close to 100% exploration success in the region and neighbouring areas.

Senegal
With high impact billion barrel potential targets, operator status and a large equity position, FAR is highly leveraged for success in Senegal. Offering world class oil accumulations, deepwater exploration activity in the West African region continues to gain momentum.

Guinea Bissau
Containing an existing oil discovery in shallow water, FAR's offshore Guinea-Bissau blocks offer considerable potential. Exploration and appraisal drilling is likely in 2013, supported by encouraging 3D seismic acquired across the Sinapa discovery and numerous large prospects and leads

AHZ = Admedus (formerly Allied Healthcare).

Apart from announcements that are expected sometime 1st Qtr 2014, I'm factoring in a late January sell-off, as cheap shares from 12 months ago become more attractive to sell off with reduced capital-gains tax, so perhaps a bit of an anvil at the start of the month, followed by ... news?

Thanks, Joe!

I'll give Teranga Gold Corp, TGZ, a go Joe. What with production and cost guidance due round about Jan 28th and the leg up gold is having at the moment and a chart that is looking upwards, I hope it doesn't run too early.

AVQ please.

With their trial over mining rights adjourned last month, the SP sunk as low as 1.3c from the previous norm of 2c. The trial resumes in early February, so there "should be" (and I know I've said this before) speculation as to their chances of success.

AVB thanks Joe. Soon this share will rocket up as the progress to a mining licence and production get closer

MHM please Joe. Surely has to be at rock bottom now and 2014 should see a substantial improvement in processing the waste aluminum

THO Thanks.

THO is under takeover offer from SKE in a deal worth $33.5m. After THO paying back their debt etc, the residual amount will be paid to holders. This amount is thought to be under 4c per share, although it could easily be a lot lower than 4c.

Joe,

I will go with CTP, the production licence is well overdue but all boxes have been ticked, so the issue of the licence can only be a few days away. We will see what that does for the SP, upward, I hope.
