Fair Work Head Honcho Hides Risque Report

The federal opposition has renewed its calls for the industrial umpire's report into embattled Labor MP Craig Thomson to be made public.
A spokesman for Fair Work Australia yesterday said the investigation into Mr Thomson and the Health Service Union's finances might not be publicly released.
Since 2009, Fair Work Australia (FWA) has been examining allegations of financial irregularities at the union formerly headed by Mr Thomson, now the MP for the NSW seat of Dobell.

It's been claimed Mr Thomson used union credit cards for prostitutes, lavish meals and cash withdrawals - claims he denies.
The backbencher's vote is crucial to the survival of the Gillard minority government.

According to media reports there is no certainty that it will be publicly released.

This is an obvious politicisation of the Industrial Judiciary and will be a blight on all associated with it, and bring all decisions of Fair Work in to disrepute.

It has been sitting in the Fair Work microwave for too long as it is, three years in all.

It deserves to see the light of day. If not, they will have buckleys of keeping it under wraps, someone will leak it anyway.





Time is up Fair Work.

It is time to be fair to the long suffering HSU workers who have funded the alleged high life of their Union representatives.

Fair Work is not just for the Union bosses and overpaid CEO's of our companies. Just a small part of it's efforts should be for the workers who provide the cushy life for CEO's and Union Bosses, and the Fair Work public servants.

What if Kathy Jackson was to take up a petition amongst the HSU members. Could they not force FWA by legal means to demand release of that report?

It was crisis day in the parliament
The house was hushed and still.
A member rose with a question
“Are we doomed to go downhill?”
“I am confident of an upturn”,
The PM made reply.
“If workers pay is held at bay,
We'll all be home and dry.”
“How true, how true”, cried the workers.
“Let's end this wicked strike.
We don't want a rise in wages,
They can stick it where they like.”
“Thank God, Thank God”, sobbed the bosses.
“There's faith on the factory floor.
And now we've got this extra lot
We'll give it to the poor.”
They filled their pockets with money
And ran with eager feet
Pressing their surplus profits
On the people in the street.
They moved among the dole queues
And boarded every bus
With streaming eyes and heartfelt cries
“You need it more than us”.
Soon all the people prospered
And the devil became a saint
Now the sober unions
Had exercised restraint.
The cities were filled with singing
And the sound of laughter spread
As hand took hand in the golden land
and pigs flew overhead.
