Etrade crashed!

You know, I am sick of unreliable brokers that are not geared up for the 1 day in every 3 years when you need them the most. When something big is going on in the market.

Comsec had the same problem when the dot com bubble burst. I couldnt get into the website.

Etrade needs to pick up their game. Such outages can cost customers lots of money.

In the meantime, I will go back and see if I can get on their site. Have been trying for the last 20 mins.
 

My etrade AND power etrade working just fine, perhaps its your end ?
 
My internet connection to anything 'stock' related is very slow, guess there's high traffic today considering.

Etrade isn't working at all, takes forever to load and keep getting 'you don't have permission to access this feature' errors when viewing my portfolio, and the ASX website has been difficult to connect to all morning, and I had a 502 bad gateway error before.

To be expected I guess for those that have been around.
 
Same problem here, can't get on or very slow if it logs, could be area
Lot of people wanting to trade - can't sustain the load?
 
I use to use the old system etrade had but have now been forced to use the new system due the oldie being shut down. The old was'nt as flash but always seemed to be working when the new system was down.

Now I have no backup and have to suffer with everyone else.

I have had power e-trade working fine today. If it's only the basic site that is down, that could be a sign of who is selling, or e-trade putting more resources to its premium platform.
 
I still cant get in - well I should clarify I can get in but the site is not working. Not going to bother calling them as I will be on the phone forever. I am changing to Comsec at the next possible chance.
 

Agree, I found the old site much better actually. The new one is designed to match the US site.

Need to send a big message to Etrade that this is not acceptible. They seem to have these problems every time there is a correction in the market.

Time to vote with my feet (FYI Etrade I bring in thousands of dollars in brokerage annually. I am not happy!!!)
 
Their phone system has crashed as well. Cant even get through on any of the phone numbers.
 
I seem to be back up and running with Etrade now, don't know for how long
Has anyone had the same probs with commsec, I'm not with commsec just wondering if they are similar.
 
E-trade working but slow. Market Indicators: Market Indices is stuck on As at: 30/09/2008 10:09:08 AM.

anyone else that can't see the indicators, looking over at bloomberg to get some idea.

Commsec was working, albeit very slow on updating price quotes. On further note my other broker was working very well.
 
Time for a real broker then....

Sure it costs more (sometimes not heaps more though) but at least you can always get an order on.
