Equity Raisings

G'Day all,

STEP on up for the biggest equity sale extravaganza in Australian corporate history. In the past 12 months Australia's listed companies have broken world records by raising more than $70 billion in deeply discounted equity raisings to repair their battered balance sheets and make opportunistic acquisitions.

In May alone, a record $15 billion of equity issues were announced - and largely completed -- through share placements, rights issues, share purchase plans and hybrid issues - as companies exploited the recent rally in the equities market and flurry by superannuation funds to start converting their cash piles into equity.

Recent capital raisings that come to mind include AMP, QAN, ANZ, CBA, WBC, NAB, WES, GPT, STO, MQG, BSL, AWC, APN, MGR, BBG,SGP, IAG, WDC, GMG, RIO and OST. Many REITs

I would like to know people's opinion on what potential stocks ( whether it would be smallcaps or bluechips, any sector) that will be next to raise capital. Most of the ones that have already raised capital are trading well above the issue price. It may be worth while being on some of these potential stocks to be eligible to participate in the equity raising. Some potential stocks include LEI, LLC,AMC. Many thanks.

Which ASX200 stocks still likely to raise quity?

Hi All,

Ive been thinking about which companies are still likely to need to raise equity, to pay off debt, or for acquisitions??

Anyone got any knowledge or ideas on this??
