Morgan Stanley, a bank, forecast earlier this year that Starlink might have 32m subscribers by 2040, earning it around $100bn a year in revenue, or around three-quarters of the bank’s prediction of SpaceX’s total revenue.Morgan Stanley also outlined optimistic and pessimistic scenarios. In the former, Starlink signs up 80m subscribers and brings in $250bn-300bn a year, more than twice as much as Tesla earned last year. In the latter, in which Starship is delayed and subscribers are scarcer than imagined, revenues reach just $40bn a year.
