Elon Musk

am not up to date with modern rocket fuels , but CO2 wasn't a by product when a classmate ( at high-school ) was messing with this stuff

( not 100% safe , but no carbon compounds used )
people were already raving against space tourist linking it to CC horror..even if you burn hydrogen, whatever, all this energy is by and large mostly fossil fueled.

one project used metallic aluminum and hydrogen peroxide , but the compounds got more complicated as the interest deepened

and that was around 1970

Elon Musk helped accelerate a transformation of the country's electricity grid to replace fossil fuels with clean power — now it's a testing ground for global climate action. Like so much in our modern era, Australia's high-stakes gamble on renewable energy starts with an Elon Musk Twitter brag. 4 Apr 2023
= No I'm not a robot but lots are visiting ASF and happy to be there on information grabbing freebies.

If the number of people in the world was reduced by half and still then an 80% bigger population than in 1940 then 2.3 billion.
Then the rush to get rid of fossil fuel would be slowed to a crawl. So as the population is set to explode upwards as in Niger there are 7 children born to each woman there Elon Musk's efforts to get humans off Planet Earth becomes more important.

For someone like me who is scientifically certain CO2 human emissions are not linked to any man made warming and are actually good for earth, who cares.
The release of non co2/h20 components is more worrying, as is any release in upper atmosphere where they are not supposed to be in our earth current balance.
I will not lose sleep on the later at current rates of launches so please Elon, carry on

In term of population control, for Elon, not my example but i understand his stance and use of gonads

less people translates to less potential customers and ( gasp ) less potential tax-payers

i hope those figures register with those feeding at the trough ( 'cos it eventually translates to no jobs/pay rises for you )

Interesting point of view mentions some of the big union supporters that are Musk haters because of his non-unionised work force.

Musk using his influence for the greater good. Lol

Chechen warlord says Elon Musk disabled his gun-mounted Tesla Cybertruck

A Chechen warlord has accused the Elon Musk of “remotely” disabling his machine-gun-mounted Tesla Cybertruck.

A Chechen warlord who claimed Elon Musk gifted him a Cybertruck has accused the Telsa CEO of “remotely” disabling the machine-gun-mounted vehicle, which needed to be towed off the Russian battlefield.

I do not mind that even if not really commercial from Elon.
Imagine the PR from a cybertruck wiping up NATO troops near a missile battery in occupied Russia (need to warm up some) with all the camera 360 views of Disney World shows.

Obviously less fun when done by a hacker or the ato on the freeway...

Interesting changes to our world are ahead.

Since it has never before been possible to build something like Starlink, no one is quite sure how big or profitable it might end up becoming. Morgan Stanley, a bank, forecast earlier this year that Starlink might have 32m subscribers by 2040, earning it around $100bn a year in revenue, or around three-quarters of the bank’s prediction of SpaceX’s total revenue.
Morgan Stanley also outlined optimistic and pessimistic scenarios. In the former, Starlink signs up 80m subscribers and brings in $250bn-300bn a year, more than twice as much as Tesla earned last year. In the latter, in which Starship is delayed and subscribers are scarcer than imagined, revenues reach just $40bn a year.
