Actually you do, water cooling Nuclear fuel rods is pretty much the only way to prevent a melt down.On the topic of the EV batteries, I don't know maybe hosing them down slows down the speed at which the battery cells melt lowering the intensity of the burning, I don't know I am just an investor, I will leave the fire fighting to the fire fighters.
