Thought I would post this rather random thread just to chat about our rather bizarre two days which just shows that 'it pays not to jump out of perfectly good windows'. Does anyone else have stories about stocks which hit the gutter yesterday totally friendless but leapt back today as if Thursday will be Monday all over again. My key bounces were: PTM, SHV and TIM

(As an aside today's SHV and TIM performances were that bizarre that I would not be surprised if 'corporate activity' is brewing)
 
Rainmaker, I'll let this thread go this time but for future reference this is the sort of thing that is far better suited to a Blog.

We introduced the blogs to get discussion of people's individual trading into a specific area of the site. It might be worth considering starting one.
 
Thanks mate, I actually want to survey some extremely volatile stocks to maybe buy some options tomorrow......this type of volatility is just unheard of and people have some good stories

Perhaps this thread is better framed as a 'Black Tuesday Trading Stories' thread. People can post about their own personal experiences in the market over the last few days.

It's always interesting to hear how others coped (or didn't cope) with all this volatility.

It's been a rough time for sure.

It may have been a black cloud but it had a silver lining. I was away a fair bit through the day tuesday and put in a few buys at what I thought was very low prices not expecting them to be filled. All but one was filled and most at the bottom for the day. I was away most of the day today, all the trading hours, but I put in some sells at much higher than I paid and half of them were filled. All in all my best week so far this year.
 
well I lost $7770 yesterday - so then I spent $7 for a cask of wine , total $7777.
Thought to myself .. that has to be a lucky omen ;)

and today ? - up 7000 (mainly miners) :eek:
