Hi All

I have two parcels of shares, one of the shares is delisted and the other has been suspended from trading for numerous years. As such the shares are practically worthless.

I'm looking to crystallise the capital loss and I was just querying if anyone has actually used the delisted.com.au website to sell the worthless shares. Just not sure if it's a scam website or legit.

Cheers.

It's legit alright;
  • You transfer to them any of your shares you can't sell anymore.
  • They'll charge you a handling fee, which usually exceeds the "non-value" by a few Dollars.
  • Then you can deduct the book value plus transfer costs from any Capital Gains.

slightly off-topic

delisted.com.au
is a useful RESEARCH tool when tracking down those pesky companies that keep changing their ticker code/name ( well worth book-marking the site ,especially if you dabble in small/micro-caps )

well worth using the little black book to store the deeds of directors you might not like to share a company with in the future

have never used the site ( yet ) to off-load dud shares .

good luck

I have actually used the site to check what the F happened to a company or code that I used to know or look up. Or was dusting off from the bottom drawer... :sneaky:

Neither my broker nor ASX nor Google can recall any useful information as to what happened but delisted.com has shed light on the tragedy and date of passing. Only thing they could improve on IMO is if they could include a historical chart till the de-listed R.I.P. date for each stock.

I agree, it is a useful site for tracking corporate disappearing acts/ dissembling .

Mind you, ASF is useful too, as various incarnations can have a potted life history spelled out. ?
