Good evening everyone, and welcome to the December 2013 stock tipping competition entry thread! :)

A quick recap of the rules for those not familiar with them:

1. You MUST have a minimum of 10 posts to enter.

2. Each entrant may choose one ASX listed stock. Options, warrants and deferred settlement shares are not permitted.

3. Stocks with a price of less than $0.01 are ineligible for the competition, as are stocks that are currently suspended from trading.

4. The winner is the entrant whose selected stock performs the best in percentage terms between December 1 and December 31.

5. The maximum number of entrants in the competition is 100.

The competition winner will receive $100. The second placegetter will win $50 and the third placegetter $25.

You have until midnight on Saturday, November 30 to enter. However, in practice, entries can be submitted until this thread is closed. No entries submitted after that can be accepted for any reason.

Those who qualify, please post your entries in this thread. Remember, once you have selected your stock, you CANNOT change it for any reason. Also, you must be qualified when you enter.

Each month we usually have some members who do not qualify for the competition but enter anyway. If someone who has selected a stock hasn't yet qualified for the competition, their stock is officially up for grabs! Just mention it when you post your entry.

Best of luck to all entrants! :D

Just a reminder to those entering to please post a brief reason explaining why you chose that particular stock. One or two sentences is enough, although more is always welcome.

If the stock and the reason for entering it are the same as the previous month, please feel free to simply post the same explanation again.

Many thanks! :)

AVB thanks. AVB has disappointed a bit lately as finance arranged for copper production, capital raising, large institutions part of the funding, all looking good. But the price has not moved, but I am thinking it is going to happen at some point. Be a nice Christmas present

FAR thanks Joe

FAR Limited is the largest holder of exploration licences of any ASX listed oil and gas entity in Africa and has first mover advantage.

Kenya
FAR holds two highly prospective licences with strong farm-out potential in the heart of the Lamu Basin. Kenya's exciting and fast emerging oil and gas margin is drawing the attention of major international players, with close to 100% exploration success in the region and neighbouring areas.

Senegal
With high impact billion barrel potential targets, operator status and a large equity position, FAR is highly leveraged for success in Senegal. Offering world class oil accumulations, deepwater exploration activity in the West African region continues to gain momentum.

Guinea Bissau
Containing an existing oil discovery in shallow water, FAR's offshore Guinea-Bissau blocks offer considerable potential. Exploration and appraisal drilling is likely in 2013, supported by encouraging 3D seismic acquired across the Sinapa discovery and numerous large prospects and leads

AVQ please.

Two reasons:

1. They have been in trial in Solomon Islands High Court for the past month or so re dispute as to land mining rights. I think right now it is their turn to present their case in court. There should be lots of speculation in December as to their prospects of winning the court case, despite the judgment not being likely to be handed down any time this year.

2. They have a capital raising of 2c per share which expires on 25/11/13. This CR has put a cap on the SP, and given the above speculation, should rise after the CR expires.

BCC

About to spud a prospective well, and the AGM is coming up. Management knows they need to pull out a rabbit or two to save themselves, and last time there was a situation like this they did save some rabbits and pull them at the opportune time. I tip a repeat performance.

TPD again thanks Joe.

With a successful fracture stimulation of the Bonner 1H well, flow back of frac fluids over the next 4 weeks will hopefully deliver a commercial result.

A successful olmos sand well in 1st or second qtr 2014 would deliver some substancial value.

All the best.:D

AHZ
Been on it for a while. Good potential. High risk though. Sorry about first post only just signed up, thought i might share. If they are allowed to sell in US could be up for a good run. First sale in Europe happened recently will be interesting to watch.

Joe, Will try EGO please, now that the results of the Extraordinary meeting have been announced, and a new board is in place. It will be interesting to see what improvements to the SP will take place now.

SDL please Joe, recent move up since 7th October and clearly something is going to be announced regarding development of this massive Fe project. Unless of course the Chairman is telling porkies...of which I doubt very much.

The gap caused from the Hanlong fallout will eventually be closed, just a matter of when.

AHZ - I trust Baker will forgive me jumping his suggestion, but I have nominated it many times in the past couple of years.

Admedus (formerly Allied Healthcare Group) has a few irons in the fire (surgical patches, starting to sell, with more regulatory hurdles to jump in the US jurisdiction particularly), experimental therapies & vaccines (early days, but they've been good early days), and some small revenue from surgery-room equipment.

A lot of eyes have been looking at Admedus, and another good announcement - no idea when it could come - could put another rocket under the SP.

That said, 12 months ago, it was under $0.02c, nowadays it $0.155c, has recently seen 0.185. A soufle can only rise so much, but how much? And if so, when? The world wonders.

But let's see what December brings.

I disclose buckets of Admedus.

COD - Cossack Energy thanks.

Announcement out regarding discussions with 'well credentialed parties' on a potential farm-in or corner stone investment.

COD are also looking at value adding through an acquisition strategy.

2D seismic data provider has been contracted for 130km span of the Limnytska Licence, Ukraine.

All good purple.
Very interested to see where it goes in the next couple of years. Kinda want it to fall below 10c so I can increase my holding. Went in though expecting to lose it all.

SMA thanks Joe. Thinking November figures will be significant. Previous monthly sales for MyLife (via China Mobile) have been doubling. Might show the start of income from China Unicom.

Northern Miming, NMI, thanks Joe.

No debt, fully funded rights issue recently completed. Targeting nickel/copper/gold tenement near Kalgoorlie.

Chart indicates upward movement since the breakout from mid Nov.

THO.

Entered a conditional sale agreement of the business to Skilled Group for ~$33.5m. If the transaction goes through, THO will basically pay everything off and close up shop. Sureplus funds will be returned to shareholders. The amount is uncertain but could be anywhere between 1 to 4.8 cents. Currently trading at 2.1c, so risking 1 cent to make potentially 2.7c profit.

No idea about the relative probability of the outcomes though.
