Good evening all,

First post here, so here goes...

I am using Commsec for my actual trades/orders, and subscribed to morningstar for some extra recommendations.

I tested out IRESS last night and gosh it was horrible, so i unsubscribed and came across Turbo Trader which seems to have a reasonably responsive interface but still seems very 90's windows 3.1 inspired and quite reminds me of IRESS though it definitely is a jump ahead.

I've now discovered TradingView with a much more modern view, and social functionality, so users can actually share information and discuss trades and recommendations.

Would be good to get some feedback from users of these, or if you prefer something else for certain reasons, or if you simply just dont use any extra tools other than what your broker provides, ie: what you get with Commsec for free (plus or minus the extra morningstar information and then whatever other facebook groups, email reports etc...)

Basically i don't want to be spending more money than i really need to in order to maximise my view ont he market and analysis of prospective stocks.

Look forward to hearing from you and hopefully i can be a positve contributor for the forums.

Hey @futureperth, welcome to ASF!

I too use Commsec for placing trades but I don't listen to outside recommendations, emails or facebook groups for selecting my trades. I just use scans I have created in my charting software and follow price and a few indicators on my charts.

I haven't used TurboTrader or Trading View so I cannot comment, but I have used Commsec IRESS and agree, it is complete and utter garbage.

For scanning and charting I use Incredible Charts. $19.95 per month for 20 minute delayed ASX data. Perfect for what I need and very reasonably priced.

Lots of other people here use AmiBroker with Norgate Premium Data which they swear by. Again, having never used it, I will let others explain its appeal.

Once again, welcome to ASF.

I have been using Commec for years but just recently started using their CONITIONAL ORDRES to minimise my loses so that I do not need to be glued to the screen.
I read Motley Fool online and often go with the flow. So far so good following pot stocks , Lithium stocks, AI such as APX.
Most of these are now falling so I have sold most and am cashed up at the moment.

Kind regards,
the Caveman
