So it's that time of year again when The Fairytale of New York simply must be played again.

It's all so different this year though, because a couple of weeks ago, Shane McGowan kicked his clogs and went to the big drunk tank in the sky.

What better fitting song should be played at his funeral...



It's also the last night of Hanukkah as I write and on the home straight towards Christmas. I hope everyone had/had a blessed season, whether religious or secular.

More than happy to give a good share of ours.
At the moment very windy with temps in the mid 30's with total fire bans etc.
Getting tired of it and summer has only just started, well it's been going for a while actually.

and worse today with a total vehicle and harvest ban now in place. Just managed to move a truck load of cows and calves to the other farm before it came in.

We have anamed a new born calf Jesus because for the life of me, haven't been able to work out how the mother was got at.
Only put the young bull in with these heifers 2 months ago.
A truely mystical birth.

Rehearsing my bracket for Christmas this evening had me sweating

Not sure whether its the temps or fear of @#$&ing up. I foolishly volunteered for a couple of all latin carols and stuffed if I can remember the words without a cheat sheet

Just at a property in the Valley, all refugees and dissenters from the abomination that is the current iteration of the CoE, with a few n'er do wells from other faiths. All rebels lol.

With total bans of everything in place today I thought it would be appropiate to send warm gushing wishes to all at ASF, even to the Good Cap't.
On reflection I though it might be prudent to seek counsel's advice on the appropiate wording.
I wanted to send some sort of holiday greetings to all and sundry, but it can be difficult in today's world to know exactly what to say without offending anyone.
So on counsel's advice the following is:
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non addictive, gender neutral celebration of the summer solstice holiday practised with the most enjoyable traditions of religious persuasion or secular practices of your choice with respect for th religious/secular persuassions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.
Also, I wish you a fiscally successful, personally full-filling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2024, but not without due respect for the calendar of choice of other culters whose contributions to society have helped make our country great (not to imply that Australia is necessarily greater than any other country) and without regard to the race, creed, colour,age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee. By accepting this Greeting, you are accepting these terms. This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting.It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for him/her or others and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher.
