Hi,

I have an apple lap top. I was going to buy amibroker as my charting software but it would appear not to be compatible. Does anyone know of any good software that is compatible with macs? Thanks.

My understanding is that something like Amibroker or Metastock can run on a Mac if you install "Virtual PC' from Microsoft. Have you checked out this option on an Amibroker forum, someone there is maybe running it on a Mac using this option?

Also found this thread with a little info on it re Amibroker and Mac.

If you think Investor R/T could be what you want I can recommend it without reservation. I use it on a PC, so I had the reverse problem as you; I was concerned about compatibility with a PC...

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Charting software for a mac?

Hey all

I have just made the big move from a pc to mac and am very lost. Whilst my new mac looks very nice, I haven't been able to do much with it. Can anyone out there recommend a good charting program that works on macs or how to amibroker working easily on one

Cheers

Re: Charting software for a mac?

i am also in a similar position, i'm running trades of a laptop, is it necessary to have a larger screen if i wish to day trade?

also, "running stops" is this referring to placing an order to sell at a particular price above the current price, as well as below it. ???

help appreciated.

Also can you "day trade" using IRIS? or is this not sophisticated enough?

Investor R/T runs on Macs (I think).

I'm using the latest MacBook Pro running VMWare Fusion, Windows XP and Unity. Charting software wise, search for Hubb Investor or FreeCharts Pro which are both free.

Otherwise, use CrossOver 7, Google AdvancedGet 7 or FreeCharts Pro and that would give you windows charting platform working seamlessly on the mac.

I use those packages because there are more resources on that platform and I find their charts are easier to read.

warm regards

Additional Info: I'm using WebIress on via FireFox/Safari browser to execute my day trades. It's fine as a simple charting software but don't expect too much.

For speed on the MacBook Pros, I've found the CommSec Protrader 1 [via VMWare] to be the best in terms of execution speed & stability on the Macs.

For Day trades and serious work, I'm about to move over to bootcamp due to the slowness in all virtualization programs but it's best to start with running virtualization first.

Since 2019, Mozilla has been calling on Apple to make a fundamental, privacy-protecting change for all users: eliminating advertisers' ability to track users across apps. To do this, we've asked Apple to reset its Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), the feature that enables the online version of a salesperson following you from store to store and noting every item you look at. Creepy.

In recent months, Apple committed to give users more control of their privacy and the company just announced that this important change known as App Tracking Transparency will be enabled by default on iOS in early spring.1 More than 40,000 Mozilla supporters joined together to thank Apple and say "stand strong."
