a lot of sand crabs here in moreton bay at present. here is this mornings catch. my pots are still in and i have to check them every 2 hours. ive been getting an average of 4 per look.
i go out in my kayak to check them, so its a pretty inexpensive exercise...
they look like mud crabs...how big are they...pink ones look like they have been cooked....mud crabs are yummy, alaskan king crabs...and king island crays...or are they morton bay bugs ??? have not seen them for awhile down south...brother used to run a seafood business years ago....so I had cheap supplies then
cheers...ps I have never heard the term sand bugs...except for the tiny things we used to pump /suck up out of the sand

Went crabbing and fishing last night and caught these four fellas in pots and the grunter on braid. Perfect weather and I can tell you muddies still are the best tasting crustacean.
