I've inadvertantly ended up with 54 carved solid teak stools, 300mm X 300mm X 450mm high and come in the timber colour shown and a chocolate stain.. I'm not trying to flog them off here, but just curious as to where I might sell such products and what they would be worth.
The conversation with the agent overseas got lost in translation (in hindsite I now understand why) and 5 cubic metres of crates have ended up in my possession. I feel that I'm going to get stung with the shipping costs if I tried to return them and that would defeat the purpose.. If I don't get rid of them, some friends are going to get some nice outdoor seats for xmas..

Cheers,

Thanks Boyou, the weight will be the killer, though.. 8kg for the fully carved and 15kgs for the solid...

what sort of $$$ would you think they would get? I really don't have the time to ebay and I'm just trying to work out if it will be worth while shipping them back to the manufacturer overseas..

I'm looking on Ebay but I really have nothing to compare them to for costing...

Cheers,

Cheers,
I suppose the price would be the, total cost to you / number of stools = $$
Should give you a rough estimate of the Cost price at least:dunno: Any other guestimators out there:1zhelp:

Mate they look sensational, something a bit different-dont know about selling price but you would know what you need to get back, just double it and a bit more(price for this advice is 4 chairs with free delivery to Brisbane;)Alternatively sell them to Gunns to make woodchip!!!!!!!!!!

I would just work out a price you want to get to cover costs and make a small profit and ring a freight co. to get a cost to ship it Aust wide and sell them on Ebay + the freight component, they will sell very quickly I would imagine.

Good luck

Thanks for the replies everyone... Yes, I know what they cost me.

I was just wondering if it was worth selling them or returning them, as the return figure would be quite substantial..
They aren't a cheap item, hence the requests for the price they may fetch at market...I'll think it over..

thanks again.

thanks again.

Just put them on Ebay and see if you get any interest, I think you'll be surprised even if they are expensive, quite a unique item.

PS - You could also list them as a p/u only item if you live in a major city to save freight costs

The thing is if I sell one, I can't return the rest..

Unfortunately I've recently moved from Brisbane to FNQ..

cheers,

You could try an online auction house like Grays online, as they move lots like this on a regular basis.

Less hassle than e-bay and you might get a bulk bidder from a furniture wharehouser.

Stan 101 - where are these chairs from ? - Indonesia?

I can tell you I've seen similar stools carved out of solid tiber - Teak (I think) - they are worth upwards of $700 each in Japan I'd estimate. Maybe up to $1200 depending on quality, cracking etc.
Find a classy indoor furnishings shop near you and do a deal with them!!

Approach one of the many furniture stores in Ashgrove or Milton and I'm sure you get some interest there. I know people that might be interested in 6-8 of them but you probably would want to get rid of them in large quantities. Shipping from NQ must be a killer too.
