At last a columnist has had the courage to declare that battlers would be unimpressed by Cate Blanchett and Michael Caton's elite ad.

The Castle's Darryl Kerrigan would be unlikely to vote for another tax, particularly if pushed by the rich and elite in our society such as actors and millionaires.

From The National Times, Rowan Dean.

What a silly move by the Carbonistas, they are so removed from ordinary folk that they never envisaged a negative reaction to their ad effort. What utter muppets.

Bloody Altruists.

Why can't Cate be like Gina Reinhardt? Worth billions and being prepared to fight for more!!!

Whoever in the ALP or Greens who commissioned this ad needs to have their head bitten off by a very hungry Carbonmonster.

It is a dill of an ad, poorly composed, cartoonish and speaks down to the demographic it was trying to target.

Then again, it may not have had a target audience.

It may just have been done to insult the majority who are against a carbon tax.

If the latter, it has succeeded.

Midnight Oil Garret ended up politician, wander if Carbon Caton or Carbon Cate aren't contemplating the Politician's dip.

Suppose they can afford the tax, after all Julia said that under-privileged will be better off with tax, so Cate and Caton will pay more and everybody will be happy ever after, (until next tax or 5 for 1 boat crap).

Stop picking on Gina she couldn't help the fact her dad was a billionaire and has never had a real job or met anyone worth less than $50 mil.

And it's even more a dill of an ad as shown by this short youtube video which points out many inconsistencies:

Thanks sails, as the French say, and it is particularly applicable to the latte left,

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

Without any direction in life, the Carbonistas pick on a religion, Global Warming and Armageddon Drought. They were anti nuclear in the 50's 60's and 70's. In the 80's , 90's and 10's they are Alarmists on Weather.

When they are proven wrong, they call those who disagree with them, " Deniers". It could rain for 40 days and nights , and they would find a way to twist it to their view of science.

Carbonistas, schmistas.

They should go out and get a proper job, we need more workers up here in the coal fields, but no, they sit on their overpriced dwellings in Sydney like ... I'll stop.

It's worth noting that the people promoting a carbon tax now are in many cases the very same people who opposed nuclear and hydro in this country.

If we used those two energy sources at a rate comparable to the global average, that in itself would reduce CO2 emissions by more than the carbon tax proposes to do. And, of course, there's that little point that the whole purpose of a carbon tax is to force by economic means the construction of things like nuclear and hydro.

Introduce a carbon tax. Wait a few years. Then you'll find today's advocates of a carbon tax manning the blockade against the very dams and reactors they are presently trying to force the construction of.

We don't need a Carbon Tax, we need more dams and to divert the great rivers inland. It's been raining in Townsville for 16 hours, and its been raining in the UK torrentially.

What a load of cobblers from the Carbonistas, the Church of Carbon on Earth.
