Can I buy govermental bonds directly from the RBA, or I must purchase through the bank? other options?

I was under the impression the RBA sold them directly at auction...

I was also under the impression that the face value was $100,000 a hit...

I believe this used to be the case before financial deregulation.

I heard that they are considering listing govt. bonds on the ASX... I think it was in todays or yesterdays paper.

I think many would find it more convenient to buy them on ASX or similar. It will at least allow electronic forms of payment and possibly doing away with the other checks.
