I was thinking about this a few weeks back when I needed to communicate something with the seller of on-line software. No phone communication, only e-mail. After about 20 e-mails the problem was resolved yet 1 phone call would have done it. They have few if any staff so can`t offer any phone support after sales.
Also a hard copy of software is more preferable to me but this era of convenience has the merchants only offer downloads with dubious or no guarantees. Disappointingly we have moved away from hard copy software on the internet.

Hi all,

I buy lots of things on-line but do think very carefully about who I deal with. For example I buy books from Amazon. Generally, if you buy from the larger well known companies, any risk is much reduced.

In the case of Metastock, I purchased on-line from Paritech.com.au and had no problems. The box containing the software and manuals turned up as promised within a few days.

You can also buy asx data history going back many years, 18 or so I think.

cheers
