We have all heard of a 'Bull' market, which is a market where stocks are rising and a 'Bear' market where stocks are falling.
I heard once on a US overnight show a guy claim that it was called that because Bulls attack by lifting their heads and Bears attack by striking downwards.
I don't know why, but I always thought it was a 'Bull' market because people can 'run with the bulls' as they do in Spain and a 'Bear' market because you 'run away from bears'.
Anyway, that is what I always thought, does anyway know where the phrases come from?
