After watching million dollar traders, i noticed that they are all using Bloomberg hardware. Has anyone used this before? Is it worth getting, i've read that they have a custom keyboard.

And where do you buy it from, ive searched the bloomberg site and i cant find it. How much does it cost? according to wiki, its 3k a month!

If that's the case you would be mad to pay. Save cash and go to the source!

More like $1.8k per month. but if you have more links to live exchanges, then i think you gota pay more.

Yeah it has a custom keyboard, and it looks old and clunky, like it was designed in the 80s ;)

Alas, i dont have one, but I would love to get one. It would open a whole new world to me and I could peruse so many more trading strategies. I hear it takes years and years to learn how to use it to its full potential.

It is also my understanding that its basically a must if your into bonds and fixed income, but if your trading commodities, it isn't very useful (at least, not as good as what Reuters offers).

Its also know to be able to provide news releases fractions of a second before everyone else gets them, which, for some can make a big difference. But most people have them anyway, so the edge isnt that big.

Output
***** O/P Out Patient
*** O/P Outside Production
** O/P Ownership/Purpose (Code)

No idea, just trying to ignore the mainstream garbage, what about you?

I use bloomy at work, but mostly for the chat...

It's a good systen, but pretty expensive I hear. So probably not really suited to a one man show at home
It is very involed.. the more you look into it, the more you see it offers

and the newer keyboards are actually pretty good
most bloomy keyboards just have an extra row above the F keys at the top to run some of their functions with one press of the button - just to save a bit of time
