hey guys n girls been doing some decent research on binary trading and the pro's n con's and i feel this may be my safest option to enter into a world ( stock market ) that i know not a great deal about in regards to regular investing etc etc but know i have the ability to soundly get my head around within time

First up i would love to know of any AUSTRALIAN brokers/platforms who are "regulated" or have a very sound reputation in binary shares, this is an area i would suspect "user" will trump "looking around"

Also id like to know the easiest way of setting up a tax offset/fully franked way of investing in binary options

Any info would be greatly appreciated and even if u feel there is a better way for a first time low end investor to start Out even if its not binary trading

Cheers in advance

I do sense the negativity and i do realise why but id love to know of a way i could be introduced into a market medium that is "easy" to navigate ?

Also i cant stress enough iam not looking to make it rich but dabble into something low outlay and place longer term trades for some balance to returns

I know its a poker machine type of set up but i really would love some info from users maybe because there is a huge amount of conflicting outlooks on binary trading

IG offers binary on various instruments over various timeframes.

However, as with any binary instruments, the provider makes his money from a pretty wide spread. It's like playing red or black on the roulette, except there are more than a few 00's.

Usually if you could read the market action with any sort of edge, you'd better off trading the underlying instrument.

Is it not possible to read a binary trade ( longer term ) to be "read" the same as any share could be "read" or predicted though ?

Iam very aware the short term trades are really the same as RED/BLACK but what about the stability of trades with say end of month time out ?

I really want people to comment on this and if there is obvious short falls vs regular shares etc please point it out

You have a limited profit with binary. If you long shares you have unlimited profit potential.

You are paying very big unnecessary spread which is hugely disadvantageous.

Not all bad though, they have some flexibility similar to options and a unique 0-100 situation which can be used in some situations to complement your other trades.

To trade it alone is pretty pointless because if you can make money with binaries, you will make more money trading Futures&Options.

What's there to explain, its pretty simple if you know how binary trades ?

You long a binary for 1 point or 99 point, the max you can make is 100 points. You long a share at $1 or $99, what's the max you can make ?

There's usually a few point spread fo binaries like 47 bid 52 ask. You will not find anything near that in normal liquid shares. They are made up by the broker.

You will probably find somethere in the disclosure they can change price how they see fit, and also they are not required to hedge their bets on your trade. In other words, they want you to lose for them to make money, and they also have the ability to alter the price after you have made your trade. Even the casinos cannot do that.

From the info i have read so far ( correct me if iam wrong please ) the finished price wether ur in the money or out will always be correct to the same degree any true stock fluctuates, it would be illegal to have a descrepancy on this price but agreed the broker can fluctuate the price/status while a trade is in transition and many brokers will to influence what they want the stock "to look like" mid trade

As for changing price/payout mid trade iam unsure, and this almost bumps clearly into the gambling sector ( horse racing odds etc etc ) i will scop that out some more.

Is anyone on here a binary trader and trades regularly ?

Hi RealityCheque

I can only assume you are talking about binary options trading. For which, I am not aware of any provider having much of a selection in regards to shares. You can trade bluechip stocks like AAPL in some of the larger brokers (plus global markets such as DAX, FTSE, ASX, DOWJ etc). But as an Australian- I don't believe this would be suitable to your lifestyle as the NY open is 1:30 AM (if you live on the eastern sea board of Australia incorporating DST)

I personally am a currency trader & do on occasion use binary options to compliment my trading, but I would never put all my eggs in that basket. I trade forex primary and as a very delayed secondary I will enter a binary options trade. I use something called reverse martingale (google it), I do this during large news events based on the difference between the expected and actual news. I do this because this moves the market in a large way, its a pretty sure bet (80%) & as you read on you will understand why.

To expand on Minwa's point, the regulation is very loose at best. As far as I am aware there isn't any regulation in Australia. With binary options you are not trading against the market. You are trading AGAINST THE BROKER, the broker makes the market in which you trade. Hence why on many occasions there have been complaints that when the market is close to where you initially entered, the brokers have the ability to modify the actual markets position to suit themselves. They make their money on your losses!

Broadly binary options the rate of return is 166% based on your bet & 0% if you loose. This means you will have to win 2/3 of your trades in order to even break even. If you can do that, then you should be trading in the real market against real traders where it is fair, regulated & your returns are deserving for what you stake.

Binary's you are pushing **** up hill, in my opinion :horse:. If I were you, watch some price action videos on youtube. You will then see how the market works & what charts are actually telling you.

Dont just gamble or go by feeling on what the market is going to do, I know it looks easy. But it really is not.

Kind regards & best of luck!
Jake.

Thanks jake appreciate it !

Been plugging through as much info that is out there on binary trading and it looks like its not as bad as the past had made it out to be, but its also come along way

Starting to look into forex and other methods of trading/buying/shares and looks like i need to learn a truck load more about the general stock/trading market, it does very well seem like there are better ways of trading but i just have to be open to all methods until i find something that suits.

That being said iam still keen to have a small trade binary account in the mean time ( just not as full on as i may of hoped to do ) so still please post up experiances/tips for the new guy

Very interesting posts. I have also been looking into binary options. As far as i can work out is the gamble is finding a good broker. Can you please give us an update on your trading and progress with binary options.

Cheers
