Former bikie Christopher Wayne Hudson, 30, was sentenced to life imprisonment today (with a 35 year non-parole period) in the Victorian Supreme Court after he had pleaded guilty to the murder of lawyer Brendan Keilar and the attempted murder of Dutch backpacker Paul de Waard and former model Kaera Douglas.

This is definitely one case where mandatory DEATH penalty should apply. That scum is now going to cost the taxpayer how much?

Filth like him and his ilk make me puke.

I totally understand what your saying there Jeff, but I don't like the idea of an "eye for an eye" type thing.
I don't like the idea of killing anything unless I'm going to eat it.

Society sure does cost money.

Do not despair, it is going to be only 35 years times $20,000 to $60,000 depending on accommodation per year indexed for inflation.

What surprised me that it has been reported as life.

How come judges and reporters don’t know that average male life expectancy is just short of 80 years?
 
Why call it life then? Why not call it 35 years minimum, because it's not life is it.
It's 35 years.

As I understand it, the sentence means there is the capacity to keep him in jail for the term of his life. If he behaves well, he may be considered for parole after 35 years.
