THOUSANDS of sensitive medical records could be secretly accessed by bureaucrats under a "deeply disturbing" proposal by the Federal Government, doctors say.

Under the proposal, government officials would not have to get a patient’s permission or even notify them that their records are being seized, a move health workers describe as “Big Brother at its worst”.

Looks like KRudd'nCo have gotten Big Bro fever.

Oh well. We voted for 'em.

We get what we deserve.

Jeff, I'm not sure this will get through the Senate if it requires legislation which I'd imagine it would. Bureaucrats accessing all our private information?
Can't see the Libs or the Greens going for it.

Spokeswoman for the AMA was this evening making her feelings pretty clear about it - doctors won't accept it, she very reasonably suggested.

Not getting through the senate hasn't stopped 'em reintroducing the Alcopops Tax with a "greenmail" threat of a double dissolution if everyone doesn't kowtow! :D

BigBro KRudd'nCo know how much power they have been handed - and unsurprisingly I think they will use it to their fullest advantage. Big Bro now have the opposition and the Australian hoipoloi wedged firmly between a rock and a hard place - the perfect situation for them to become the "only viable solution" to the mess we never got ourselves in. :D
