hello all,

Thank you for all of the great replies in the long term section about investing into super!

I have another question:

I have $15,000 in a term deposit doing 2.45% and matures in December this year. I’ll make a total of $300.

Looking to put this into a share portfolio until I’m ready to buy. I was looking into my old favourites such as BRK.B (NYSE), AFI, ARG, and some iShares such as IXJ, IOZ etc

Can someone suggest others? Share some experiences?

It’s not a lot of money, but I’m used to investing $500 increments.

How many years before this becomes money down (and is that set or flexible?)

Assuming a decent timeframe and fexbility, I suggest pretty much the same heirarchy I usually do. As soon as you pick things, even ETFs that own many stocks, you’re starting to be at least somewhat active. Nothing wrong with that, but I always like to point out that someone not wanting to be active (and I don’t know if that’s the case here) might as well do an ‘all’ type fund. Low cost and broad. Let’s you add small amounts as you go. Stuff like high growth from Vanguard or similar.
