Up until market close before Christmas, the ASX200 top 10/worse10 were as follows

Top 10

Linc Energy +119.6%
Origin energy +90.6%
AGL Energy +15%
Iluka Resources +7.7%
Santos +7.6%
OM Holdings +6%
Karoon Gas +5.3%
Newcrest +3.7%
Ansell Flat
Metcash -4.7%

Bottom 10

Babcock & Brown -99.4%
HFA Holdings -97.5%
B&B Power -97.1%
Valad Property -97%
Kagara -94.4%
B&B Infastructure -94.4%
Macquarie DDR -94.4%
Centro Retail -94.2%
ING Industrial -93.8%
NRW Holdings -93.6%

Thankfully, I did not own any of the bottom 10.:) Although one of my specs might be 80% down I think.

Owned plenty of Linc in 07 and 08, and a smaller holding in Metcash.

Seems to be a bit of a story in the top 10. QGC (Queensland Gas) would have been up there too had it not been taken over I would think.

Seems if one avoided the B&B thing, one might be doing better than average.

Also, I would have thought ABS would have been there? Down less than 93%???

I will update the above post at the end of trade today.

Anyone have any comments or feelings about the above?

What about OZL? Surely they are up there too. The Allegiance transaction was a stinker!

Kagara might be a phoenix that arises out of the ashes if the once in a lifetime collapse in the zinc reverses. Think they have copper too.

The rest were all highly-geared financially engineered strcutures with some good, and not so good, hard assets. They will appear at the top of the next bull (when that is, I do not know). Do not invest in them.

Happy New Year to all.
