Just wondering if anyone has been selected for the First Citizens' Parliament, to be held in Canberra in February 2009?

Random selection of federal electoral roll for regional meetings, then down to 150 for Citizens' Parliament.

I have received the invitation today from Fred Chaney. I'm quite excited about it.

Just wondering if anyone else got randomly selected from your electoral roll?

What is it about, Grace? Haven't heard of it.
When I read your heading my first thought was that it was something to do with the indigenous population.

Well, I know little more than you, other than the fact that Kevin 07 wants to hear from the people of Australia....so by random selection of the Federal electoral rolls, 150 people will be selected to sit in Canberra from 6 - 9 Feb next year for "Australia's first Citizens' Parliament".

I received the invitation today, to my big surprise. I gather that not too many people got randomly selected. We go to a regional meeting first (mine is in Brisbane, as I am from Southern Qld), and then to Canberra from there.

This is a unique opportunity for everyday Australians to discuss ways to improve our political system, and make recommendations to Government

Quote above per invitation from Fred Chaney.

So another sort of mini summit?
Our Kevvie is big on the gestures.
Anyway, hope you enjoy yourself Grace. Keep us posted on what actually happens.

Got any burning issues you want to get out there grace.

Hey, collectively here on the forum we may even be able to help you draft some legislation ready to plonk in the parliament.
