fantastic to see Luke go to final on this game show, every year we get a contestant who takes us on a journey.

he pulls out some classic emotional tracks and goodluck brother

Who cares?

If you want actual emotion from people that write their own songs, head down to the Espy or something Robots. I'm sure they'll have a solo night.

Far more talent from actual musicians you can bet.

hello,

no thanks, many of them play instruments not musician enough for you?

thankyou

Kind of irrelevant as the contract you are offered forces you to sign away your creative control. Which makes you no artist at all.

And they certainly don't like you having musical contacts already. It was an issue with that guy from Perth ages back.

Heard stories of them not allowing people through the stages because they are already established, in a band or whatever.

Makes a mockery of it really.

I saw Idol a piece of idol for the second time this season and caught Luke singing, 'his single,” I have one word; woeful. I am sorry, but it sounded like a 1972 Bedford bus on a cold winters morning grinding the starter with no luck. (I don’t even know if 1972 Bedford buses exist, if they do, I think its a fair comparison, if not, imagine it, you know you want to.)

In all seriousness though, this show should be scrapped and I concur with chops on this too, they are no artists and to sign the amount of rights away to get through on the show is absurd. I compare it to selling your soul to the devil.

The show makes a mockery of the musical tastes of the Australian public. Obviously assuming the Australian public has musical taste, and listening to a 'popular' station the other day for the first time in over 12 months safe bet there is little to none.

Idol ratings are going to crash 40% in the upcoming recession oh sorry, wrong thread!

... and then there’s the voting controversy that votes from a website were 'misdirected' and even if were directed correctly wouldn’t have affected the result, haha, my ear.
read the story here:

Me thinks there's a little bit of conspiracy going on. This guy is by far the best contestant they have ever had on the show, from what I have seen. They will get ten times as much money out of him if they sign him independently to the show than let him go with the idol contract.

History shows that the majority of "winners" are one hit wonders and runners up such as that Noll fellow achieve so much more unfortunately. Although we did get Rikki-Lee, yum! (i'm sure shes a great singer)

hello,

my money is on Luke, he will kill it

Luke is very much like a young joe cocker and will surprise most a bit like when natalie won,

its a singing contest nothing more or less, whatever happens afterwards is a bonus

go luke

thankyou

There is no way the Record Label will allow Wes not to win. He is no risk. Luke has progressed enormously, but isnt on the same planet as Wes. Natalie also transformed, but have you heard of her since?

hello,

no havent heard from Natalie or Matt Corby the runner up, but natalie took us on the journey of improvement vs matt C. who was very polished from day one, ala Wes

the show has come along way, seeing some classic tunes being sung is great

my best highlight for the series this year was Cyndi Lauper on the show, how great does she look?

thankyou

Just looked at his Idol audition, which I thought was impressive.

But this guy picked the wrong songs.

I can see Bobby doing a cover of Don Mclean's "starry starry night"

But not Cold Chisel's "When the war is over"

hello,

goodluck Luke!! bring home the trophy brother

get your votes in 191010 luke

thankyou

Man, I don't normally watch Idol, but this cat in the final with the long hair is the REAL DEAL!

What an artist, performer, inspiration!

Lives, breathes, eats, sleeps and will die with his music! Funded his own tour, is dynamic, versatile. Best I've ever seen on that show of any of the parts of the various seasons I have caught.

I'm no musician, but the guy is as passionate as they come. Hope he wins, not like it will matter.
