Good afternoon everyone, and welcome to the August 2015 stock tipping competition entry thread! :)

This month's competition is proudly sponsored by Pepperstone - The World's Leading Forex Broker.

Pepperstone is an Online Forex (FX) Trading Broker, providing traders across the globe with cutting edge forex trading technology to offer unmatched top tier liquidity, institutional grade spreads and the security of tight financial regulation. Pepperstone offers online forex trading through multiple forex trading platforms, including Metatrader 4, Webtrader and Apps for iPhone and Android.

Get started today and get up to $600 free brokerage!

A quick recap of the rules for those not familiar with them:

1. Each entrant may choose one ASX listed stock. Options, warrants and deferred settlement shares are not permitted.

2. Stocks with a price of less than $0.01 are ineligible for the competition, as are stocks that are currently suspended from trading.

3. The winner is the entrant whose selected stock performs the best in percentage terms between August 1 and August 31.

4. The maximum number of entrants in the competition is 100.

The competition winner will receive $100. The second placegetter will win $50 and the third placegetter $25.

You have until midnight on Friday, July 31 to enter. However, in practice, entries can be submitted until this thread is closed. No entries submitted after that can be accepted for any reason.

Please post your entries in this thread. Remember, once you have selected your stock, you CANNOT change it for any reason.

Best of luck to all entrants! :D

Please don't forget to post a brief reason explaining why you chose your competition entry. One or two sentences is enough (feel free to add a chart if your reason is TA based). If your entry is the same as the previous month and the reason for choosing it is the same then feel free to just post the same explanation again. Thank you!

IQE please, Joe.

Reasoning:
- Substantial holders have finished selling (I think).
- EBITA increase, along with Payout Ratio in prospectus, should result in Div Yield of ~10%

WAC please Joe.

Reasoning:

Finalising tech acquisition. Only wearables tech stock on the ASX. Heavily sold down. Potential for high growth as items like Apple Watch expand wearables market. Proprietary technology 100% owned by WAC.

MUS (Mustang Resources)

Entries for the August competition close this Friday at midnight. Don't forget to get your entry in!

EDE please Joe. They have gone on a good run on the strength of their excellent test results of the carbon fibre enriched concrete. The Directors have turned all their huge "debts " into extra equity. It's on the go.

VAR again thanks Joe.

Results from VTEM survey within the Merleac prospect expected early August. Further VMS deposits could be identified.

AUQ : (Alara Resources) thanks Joe.

This company is in the midst of new JV's and possibly takeover offers,
so i am looking for some positive SP movement soon.

RFN
It is a recent listing. I like the clients they are signing up. Actually it's quite impressive for a startup. The founders are from good background (ex-REA CEO), board members include an ex-CEO from Westpac NZ. Bit too speculative for my money at the moment with just a good story and no financials, but that doesn't mean it can't double over August and give me the WIN! :D

SWM : 7 West Media due to a high yielding dividend in Sep 3 :xyxthumbs

SMA thank you Joe

SMA have made a new entry into China with its Logistics software with a major subsidiary for China's largest automotive manufacturer. As announced today, I have copied part here...

" ... SmartTrans has been chosen by Yanfeng Visteon Automotive to supply a module of the Company’s best of breed logistics software. The proven and established system which uses mobile internet connectivity to provide information and evaluation of driver performance, safety, route optimisation, fuel efficiency and which can also reduce greenhouse gas emissions, was selected for implementation with an initial 450 vehicles commencing in Shanghai this month. Under the terms of this agreement, SmartTrans will earn revenue from an upfront payment and also via a monthly per unit licensing fee. ..."

This is a another string to the bow of SmartTrans doing business in China.

AHZ thanks Joe.

All quiet on the Western front, about time they came out with some info.

I'd like to select ESI thanks Joe.

About to sign a deal with India that every country that deals with coal should be considering.

Time is running out for entries in the August stock tipping competition! If you haven't already posted your entry, don't forget to do so before midnight on Friday!
