A quick recap of the rules for those not familiar with them:

1. You MUST have a minimum of 25 posts to enter.

2. Each entrant may choose one ASX listed stock. Options, warrants and deferred settlement shares are not permitted.

3. Stocks with a price of less than $0.01 are ineligible for the competition, as are stocks that are currently suspended from trading.

4. The winner is the entrant whose selected stock performs the best in percentage terms between August 1 and August 31.

5. The maximum number of entrants in the competition is 100.

The competition winner will receive $100. The second placegetter will win $50 and the third placegetter $25.

You have until midnight on Wednesday, July 31 to enter. However, in practice, entries can be submitted until this thread is closed. No entries submitted after that can be accepted for any reason.

Those who qualify, please post your entries in this thread. Remember, once you have selected your stock, you CANNOT change it for any reason. Also, you must be qualified when you enter.

Each month we usually have some members who do not qualify for the competition but enter anyway. If someone who has selected a stock hasn't yet qualified for the competition, their stock is officially up for grabs! Just mention it when you post your entry.

Best of luck to all entrants! :D

As usual, I forgot to ask everybody to please post one or two sentences along with your entry, explaining why you chose that particular stock.

If you chose the same stock last month, and the reason you gave last time is still valid, then feel free to simply repeat it.

tpd

trading at near half cash value

first well drilled in the 7000 foot deep roundhouse oil field.

well is drilled as a horizontal completion, and the idea is to drill under the leased area which is predominantly under a water reservoir which was man made in the 1940's. preventing the oil field from being drilled vertically,,,

first actual horizontal in the oil field.. 3 - 4 horizontal completions near by are are recorded as being outside the producing oil field itself.

all vertical wells within 1000 feet of the talon roundhouse well are commercial producers..

well drilled and fraccing is to happen in august

nice spec..

DMA thanks Joe

Dynasty Metals (ASX Code: DMA) is implementing its strategic plan to rapidly emerge as an iron ore producer in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Dynasty's flagship Prairie Downs Iron Project is located southwest of Mt Newman. On less than 10% of its tenement holding, Dynasty has identified a 1.4 billion tonne detrital ironstone deposit and a 23 million tonne hematite deposit.

The economic potential of detrital ironstone deposits (such as owned by Dynasty and Brockman Iron) is becoming more widely recognised . The potential development of this deposit is likely to benefit from a number of economic advantages and its strategic location in the Pilbara.

Dynasty’s project is strategically located close to Atlas, RIO, FMG and BHP

TON - Triton Minerals. Nearology share presently drilling for graphite at Balama North, close to Syrah Resources SYR in Mozambique. 10% interest in Matsa drilling program in the Fraser Range at Bulls Eye and Similkameen, close to SIR's present reconnaissance drilling at Yardilla.

Entek Energy-ETE,Due for a re-rating,having been punished hard over the last 6 months.

Trading around cash value, zero value for current projects, cashflow of around 400k per month.

I'd like to try DYE this month. They should be making some big announcements soon regard the TATA deal(and by jumping off MHM it can only go up!!)

KDR please, thanks Joe
I'm taking a punt on the chart's forming a double bottom - hopefully not breaking out too early.
The start of another drilling campaign at "Home of Bullion", together with a possible revival of the pog, adds some more "Great Expectations".

TNG Thanks Joe

TNGs Mt Peake has a world class resource of Vanadium and titanium. Struggling with C/R ect but with years high of 20c and a current low of 4c I feel that it's close to bottom now.

AQG please because gold is as unpredictable as I am and may resurrect. Hasn't been bad and worth a paper only punt...

I will GDO again please Joe.
The Chinese now have 90% + and may be about to make an offer to buy up all the shares. Am hoping they may offer 0.55 as per their original offer.

CCU thanks Joe,

Rationale, August every couple of years is when we seasonally see pm/s climb after a bottom. This year is the set up for me. CCU is an Aussie silver mine and will react to the upside in my view soon. The extra umph will come from a decrease in the gold/silver ratio.

Good chart IMHO http://bigcharts.marketwatch.com/ad...alse&chartStyleToggle=false&state=9&x=35&y=10

And just my humble opinion of course, and as most know I am usually very wrong.:banghead:

AVB thanks Joe. AVB looking to be closer to finalising funding for processing plant. Up 50% in th last month and getting close to a rerating.

RFL thanks.

Has had a share price pull back after hitting highs of 21c. Reporting quarter expecting increased cash flow, and there is always the chance of landing a sale though they have been few an far between this year.
RFL continue to acquire value adding programs.

BCC. Several projects on the go with news due soon, recently arranged funding removes that cloud, a potential farmout deal is in the pipeline which would increase value perception, derisk and increase the rate of exploitation of resources.
