The federal government has welcomed a move by Australia's most powerful male bosses to promote women into top jobs and fight for higher wages.

A group of 10 men, which includes CEOs from some of the nation's largest employers such as Woolworths, Telstra and Westpac, will work together on strategies to lift the representation of women at the corporate level.

The Male Champions of Change will meet regularly to discuss pay equity, flexible work arrangements and boosting women in management roles.

I would have thought the job should go to the best applicant???

Sounds like reverse discrimination to me.

When will this lunacy end?

Any wage difference can be explained by choices of individuals, eg to take time out & raise kids vs whether to put in hard yards for one's entire working years.

This affirmative action nonsense casts a shadow of doubt on women who make it to the top on their MERITS.

I won't invest in any company that uses affirmative action.

Reverse Vampires - oh no!
