Does anyone know if I can run my IB Work station off an IPod?
Its downloaded (the software) through the IB site and needs internet connection to run.

Yes its not the Internet connection I'm concerned about.
I'm not sure I can download software from anywhere but their Apps and use it.
I'm led to believe it could be purely Internet based and I need a PC to trade using a 3rd party software.

I'm not talking the Phone here the Pad itself

Apple prducts are a nightmare when it comes to any form of integration. I would steer clear personally. Average products extrememly well marketed

I doubt the standalone TWS would work but the web-based TWS you can easily try with the browser.

The TWS app works fine on my ipod touch but you do need a good internet connection. Maccas etc is great for email but bigger tasks time out.

Not a question but a statement that I am most annoyed. Very annoyed. I bought a 6th generation iPod nano from one of the 'reputable' Apple resellers. And it does not and cannot work with my PC.

Now understand that iPod is formatted to either Macintosh or to Windows but not both. Ideally, this formatting is done when you plug the thing into your computer. However, it appears that the bloody thing I have was already formatted to Macintosh when I bought the iPod brand new and you guessed it, I have a Windows based PC.

Now to restore to factory settings in order re-format to Windows, it apparently has to be done through iTunes. However, that little number cannot recognise the blighter. Why? Cause the friggin thing is formatted to Macintosh and it's a Windows based PC. "An iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the ipod, then try again." is the warning sign and anything that Apple states in relation to trouble shooting will not work!

Looks like I will need to make friends with someone who has an Apple computer.

Grrrrr.

Download mediamonkey on your pc that might work. I find it a pretty good alternate to iTunes

Hi Jimmy,
My daughters are having similar probs. with their new 8gig I-pod touch's.
Windows i-tunes wont recognise them?

Would mediamonkey work with these too?

Vicki

Try this.
Connect iPod to computer and then run iTunes if it does not start automatically.

With the iPod connected and iTunes running now hold down "Menu" and the centre button together until the apple logo appears.

The iPod should now appear in iTunes.

Let me know either way as that was the fix that worked on mine, a two year old version though.
