I have been reading "Master the Markets" by Tom Williams, and found it to be a refreshing read, especially after some of the other stuff I have been reading.

The book references "Tradeguider" software.
Maybe its just another snakeoil product - but from what I have read so far - it looks interesting.

Anyone used this software?

There is a thread on this software on the Chartist forum.

I have both EOD and Real Time versions.
For those who take the time to learn VSA,its a valuable tool.

Can be used as a trading platform OR analytical tool.

i think im going to get it, used with good risk management i think it would be very valuable to help improve profitability.... though im an absolute novice so take it with a grain of sand

Here is a Tradeguider chart of HVN.
Used in the direction of the PREVAILING trend which has been short for sometime you can clearly see the alerts Red Squares and Triangles and Trade triggers Diamonds.

Just double click on the chart for a bigger pik.

are those the tools you use mainly or only? do you ever look at the diamond stops?

I am also a Tradeguider user. I find a lot of people who dabble with the software just use the "buy/sell" signals. In reality those aren't buy/sell signals. The creators of Tradeguider spend a lot of time trying to educate people that Tradeguider gives clues about strength/weakness and that the signals alone are a small part of analyzing the market. For example, one signal inside of a tight trading range might be meaningless whereas if the market was rallying towards new highs it would be a significant indicator. From the many forums around the net that I've found so far they seem to hate the software cause they don't think the "signals" work. I hope this helps people considering the program or who are using it but aren't happy. In short, read the book and watch the DVD before using it.

yeh amen to that, its the skill of the user in reading the signals when compared to the information in the background..... ie if you see strength or weakness in the background

I am very interested to know if Tradeguider is picking up the dow swings with accuracy.

Any confirmation the real time program is accurate with indices and forex?

Please and thanks.

Everyones friend Wys. :)

I'm considering using Tradeguider to aid in my learning of VSA.

At the moment I am continuing to paper trade.

- It this a useful tool to help me or is it only worth getting it when I'm going to be trading live?
- Is it a useful tool to aid my in the development of my understanding of VSA, or is there a risk that it will become a crutch I lean on too much?
- How much does it cost p.a.?
- Do I use any data source? I'm currently using premium data. Does this work with Tradeguider?

Thanks :)

Always go to the websites as first port of call.

They've had a $499 deal in the near past for the EOD software outright (it also included a bunch of other educational materials and videos) - they kept sending me promotional emails like this until I added them to my spam list. Whether or not this deal is still on I'm not sure - but it sounded like really good value.

yes it seems it's supported

Tech says that the software is very helpful for learning and I'm sure he'll comment.

Describe a Dow swing?

PAV
I'd be surprised if you didn't make your $ 500 back in the first week.
A few here ar right in that few really know how to use it.
But without it you wont be able to observe both the true and false VSA signals.
Or learn how to use it.EOD is enough for starters.

The emails are simply non stop and I think to the extent of being detrimental to the product. A real pity!

So there is a $500 offer?

How does it work? On the website it looked like the software is available for a set amount per year, rather than owning the software?

Does the software do scans/explorations like Amibroker or is that not it's purpose? For example would I need to do all my explorations in Amibroker and then search the charts in Tradeguider?

Apologies for the stupid questions, just want to know this.

Pav,

Youtube TradeGuider, there are tones of vids on there with Gavin showing you alot of features of the software.
Alot of them are quite long and they get hard to sit through without skipping forward.

Those Offers got emailed to me about 4 weeks ago and again 2 weeks ago.

EOD $499 life time
RT $999 life time ownership (with upgrade to V5 when its released)

I purchased the RT, yet to get a rt data feed though, working on it now.
(eSignal looking likely) any advice here ?

I still have the email in my in box and the link still took me through to the $999 price page, not sure how much further you can go but I can forward it on to you if you like ?

It looks like that $499 offer is insane value.

Usually $999 for 1 year membership of software vs $499 life ownership. Am I missing something?

When I want to upgrade to real time software is it just some sort of upgrade fee rather than paying for the whole thing? Has anyone had experience with this?

I could possibly purchase the EOD one today.

Pav,
Fill me in as soon as you've started playing, i am interested as well.

BTW: What is tech/a's cut on it ?

I wish!!

Heard back a few years ago that over 350 were sold at one Asian seminar at full boot.
frankly I doubt that most could afford to do every special event or offer.

Trick is no to loose sight of the analysis.
More importantly how to apply it profitably.

There are som good deals
I have both and 2 Licences one home and one the office.
Paid full boot.
But re couped quickly.
