Just wondering if there is anyway to tell where you are in the que and if you'll get the share price sooner than later that you seek??

EG, Ive been trying to buy a share at .105 and its been sitting at .110 most of the day.
It has dropped to .105 a few times for a brief minute and on 3 or 4 buyers get in before its back up to .110 again? :banghead:

So can you tell where you are? Or how many shares have to be sold before its your turn???

on comsec market depth it list top 10 bid and ask price and it also tell you how many people are in the queue for particular bid/ask price

you can pretty easily work out your position if you look at the queue before you put in the order.... and look at course of sale information for more details trades, some trades could be small so it may take a while before it get to your position ...course of sales will tell you that

You could also sign up for a 14 day free dynamic trade screen with Turbo Trader. It will give you 'Live' dynamic market depth info, and you'll be able to see your order in the line up. BTW your not trying to buy at 105 and sell at 11 are you?:D

You need a broker/platform that has full market depth. It lets you see every price level and volume (Left hand image), as well as every order within the price levels (right hand).

The above image is from WebIress.

Interactive Broker and IG markets (CFDs) only provides 5 levels without individual orders.

BourseData and Spark also let you see the full depth, but they are just data platforms.

What share are you buying at $.105? I can print it for you if you need.

Re: Anyway to tell where you are in the que?

Thanks for the info fella's. Whats the cost of these platforms a month? Im not trading with alot so need to keep costs to a minimum.

Has it really just broken out? Im still getting my head around this whole break out thing? But it hit .115 for about 30 secs today and thats its biggest high???

Certainly not it's biggest high. Just poking up through a 3 year high. These types of stocks can gobble up your cash very very quickly. If you were watching it closely, over a longer period of time, you'd already be in the trade by now. If you were nice and early, around the 4cent mark. or if you were late around the 6 cent mark. Just watch it for now. Are you in a rush or something:D

Matt for most of Tuesday there were orders to buy more than 9 million PEN shares at $0.105 so you would have your order behind them. From the time you placed your order until close there were only around 800,000 sold at $0.105. While some of those ahead of you may have increased their order to $0.11 to buy it is likely that there were more than 5 million ahead of you, and your chances of buying at $0.105 were very remote.

You probably have a typo in your quoted price to sell (you need to be VERY careful when placing orders and check the "estimate" for each transaction).

I'm not sure if you could have sold at $0.10855- Hang Seng mentioned the other day that increments for PEN were now $0.005 (half a cent).

A bit of research would reveal the answer to your question.

Looking at it on WebIRESS, there appear to be 2 orders of 60,000 at 10.5c. I presume one of those is your order. Of those, the first one has 4,864,957 shares ahead of it in the queue, the second has 5,595,143 ahead in the queue.

For this reason I tend to buy shares in odd numbers like 59999 or 60001...

In the market depth, Webiress will show your lot in a contrasting shade clearing indicating where you are (assuming you will link a brokerage account to it).

Interesting. My Webiress doesn't seem to do that... maybe because it's DMA CFD as opposed to equity?
