After the huge success of the 'Pet Peeves' thread, I think I'll start up an 'Anti-Peeves' thread to balance out the kosmos. There are so many little things that happen to us everyday that we often take for granted and don't acknowledge, so I guess this thread can go some way to paying tribute to all those good things that happen to us all the time

I guess I'll get the train rolling...

AP: My ferrets. They love me no matter what I've done, and as long as I feed them, that's all they ask :

Ditto your comment about your ferrets, Sprinter, but for me, read 'dog'.

All the really helpful people in shops and service industries. We are quick to complain about poor service but how often do we contact the manager of a firm where a staff member has given out of the ordinary service to say thank you and to give him/her the pleasure of passing that praise on to the staff member?

Our free and peaceful country. Again, it's our habit to pick out all that we dislike and want to change. But oh so much that we can so immensely grateful for.

Just being alive and functional enough to consider this topic on a Stock forum.
 
Having a 'Pet Peeves' thread. It has been a lot of fun.
 
A hoon driver speeds past you at terrifying speeds. He gets stopped at the red lights. You pull up to him a short time after. You smile to yourself and say "what a w@nker". The hoon speeds off the green light again. Then you see red & blue lights flashing up ahead and a cop car flagging the hoon driver over. You then drive past the hoon driver with a very wide grin on your face THAT MAKES MY DAY

It's way to few and far between these days, but when it occurs it makes you smile.
 
Hell yeah. When I lost one of our ferrets, we got so much help from our neighbours and people we'd never met before. I even offered to buy the guy who told me he'd been picked up by a ranger a carton of beer or something, but he wouldn't accept anything off me. That really did make me feel warm and fuzzy

PS, and the ranger who picked him up was pretty cool too
 
When somebody stops to let me in.
Or when somebody waves thank you when I let him/her in.

Wow! Hope Mrs Duckman doesn't log on to ASF. She might start to worry about Prospector, given that very seductive picture.
Best just get back to the ducklings, there's a good bloke.
 
AP: The sportsmanship that Loti showed to Matt Giteau when he was knocked out just then. Anyone watching the Force v 'Tahs game would have seen that. Even though they're on different teams, to roll him into the coma position shows great concern. Respect Loti, respect.
 

tell you what sprinter - bludy rugby is getting ridiculously dangerous imo(especially league, with the shoulder charges etc). I played a season of league at uni. Our captain had a rough tackle, was kocked out. Then played on - was knocked out twice more - I stopped playing that year.

heck even at soccer, a boy on my son's team was knocked out in midfield. I (in my ignorance - had I been asked) would have moved him off the field and played on. Someone had the sense to leave him there - stop the game - call the ambos.
They said "just as well you didn't move him - it was serious enough to be potentially life threatening" etc .
