It is time for the independents to have some ticker and call a halt to the Rudd/Gillard experiment.

These foolish people who have never worked in their lives except as union organisers, party lackeys and as lawyers, have no idea how to run a small business, let alone our country.

They need to go.

And the sooner the better, before they do some lasting damage to a vigorous free enterprise populace.

Begone.

Go.

GG for PM. Putting all jokes aside, yes GG you are so right. These Labor clowns have no idea how to handle money. They sending us down the gurgler fast.

With a bit of luck, maybe Andrew Wilkie could be the linch pin we need.

Thanks noco, it never ceases to amaze me how the left seem to infiltrate every forum on the net, even a stock forum, to push their anti-business agenda.

Wilkie is a man without a mission, and I would not trust him to get us out of this mess.

The ALP as you have pointed out are feckless with other people's money and seem to have an entitlement attitude towards societal direction and scientific doubt.

I approach this next year with some dread for the future of Australia.

Correct GG.

I don't like how federal Labor play favourites. Social engineering by stealth. They've got a hit list, and they're working through it.

Anecdotally, it was reported that then Minister, the current PM, argued in Cabinet against an increase in the aged pension, citing that 'they don't vote for us'. If correct, this was cold-blooded and very chilling.

Also for no constructive reason, just ideology, Labor will imho again attack the private health insurance rebate, achieving nothing but to place enormous strain on the public system. The health sector equivalent of a carbon tax, and as utterly futile.

She was offered several opportunities to deny she had argued against an increase for pensioners and didn't. She is probably the most two-faced, opportunistic politician out of them all.

It seems that the PM will do absolutely anything to get votes without regard to what damage she might do to this country both now and in the longer term. Looks like she will rob those who are not likely to vote for her and give to to those who will.

What a mess for the coalition to sort out when they get back in.

Is there anything us ordinary citizens can do to hasten a new next election before more damage is done to this country? Can we get a petition going? Write to the Queen?...lol

Good question, how can we get rid of this ALP Federal Govt before our economy is totally wrecked and we are further into non productive debt? Please bear in mind that our current malaise might become full blown disease once the Greens hold the balance of power in the senate later in the year. What always amazes me is that no matter how bad the ALP is there is always a sector of Australia that is infatuated with them and anything else of a pink or outright red persuasion

I watched Laurie Oaks interviewing Wayne (the GOOSE) Swan on 9 this morning and could not believe the 'crap' that came of his mouth.
I lost count, but at least 20 times, of the number of times he said "IT'S VERY IMPORTANT" about anything Oaks asked him.
What I mean to say is, how can a person in his position as Treasurer not be able to change his emphasis on a subject of discussion without saying "IT'S VERY IMPORTANT". Surely at least one of his 'spin doctors' would pick him up on his repetition. OMG, the man is like a parrot. It's a wonder he doesn't start saying, "POLLY WANTS A CRACKER" before he is interviewed.

Labor's Fair Work Australia has put a dead hand on industrial growth in this country. Industrial action threatened on the waterfront with FWW's blessing, signals a return to the bad old days of lost productivity due to rolling strikes.

A free set top box for all pensioners, incuding disability. Whee. Not quite a plasma. Govt assistance to install and program them. This spending program won't be rorted at all.

That's milliions of set top boxes, but probably won't be the top of the line models. Wonder what the warranty terms will be. Will pensioners be able to afford the electricity to run them.

The refugees won't like this, where's their set top box.

I will bet that they will next hire some one to install the set top boxs in the pensioners homes, could use the same crews that done the bats that burnt down homes.

Refugees dont get one?? $54,000 each in costs and thats without a set top box???

Fiscal responsibility indeed..

From the above article:
Is this what the Coalition did also, i.e. allow them to get to Christmas Island and then fly them to Naru and Manus Island?

The tricky bit will be trying to get them on to the aircraft. Gillard will probably pay them a lump sum to compensate for the fare they paid to the people smugglers.
