Can someone fill us in on how trading occurs after 4.10pm (after the Auction) I hold some AGO and the last few trading sessions have seen whole swags of shares bought after the auction, at prices better than the closing price. I dont get it, why wouldnt a purchaser buy these on the market at lower prices? Can someone detail how and why this happens.

These are portfolio crossings and special crossings, usually from previous day or late settlement etc
