It was a headline in the Australian, I thought was pretty apt.Do you have a link for that ?
I wish the Tide has turned.I was stopped at a State/Federal Roadblock today with about 10 workers on a major highway, and was forced to listen to ABC Radio National Rural Report.
I expected to be regaled with low prices, lack of rain, etc. etc. but instead suffered 18 minutes of bloody global warming claptrap.
Do not these jokers realise the tide has turned against soft left/green propaganda.
I pity a farmer on his tractor or bike, having to listen to this rubbish.

Yeah, but Latham was REALLY naughty. In the ABC reporting of the Latham-Greenwich stoush, ABC witholds what Latham said about Greewich but reports what Greenwich said about Latham.
Are some protected species at the ABC ?
Well, I find RN Breakfast a very informative program. I can't comment on the rest of the day because I usually watch News24, until I get sick of the silly ads, whingers and wokeism.Don't worry, the ABC knows what it is doing. ?
It wont be long before the only people who listen, will actually work there IMO.
My wife listens to ABC classic 24/7, now she has to actually switch it off while the news is on and recently while the presenters dribble on, she is getting fed up with having to keep walking over to the radio. ?
ABC hires consultants amid nationwide radio ratings slump
A steady decline in audience numbers across its local radio stations, such as ABC Sydney and ABC Melbourne, has raised concerns inside the national broadcaster.www.smh.com.au
Australia’s national broadcaster has established an internal advisory group and brought in external consultants to try to stop the dramatic decline of its radio audiences in capital cities across the country.
In the first GfK radio ratings survey of the year, all of ABC’s metropolitan stations, as well as respective breakfast and drive time programs, reported a concerning drop in audience share compared to the same time the previous year. The cumulative audience, which quantifies how many people listened to a station at least once during the week, has fallen in every single market.
Who is it?Ya gotta wonder whether the tweet below was a pure accident, or a very clever piece of mockery by the sports editor.

Does anyone know that that bloke in the front who is one of the country's most inspiring and successful leaders?

The ABC has dropped its defence altogether in the court case taken out by Heston Russell. As a follow up to this story, Heston Russel, the ADF SAS man at the centre of these ABC allegations, sued the ABC and today has has won his first battle against the ABC in Court,
Today the Supreme court struck out the ABC defence of truth, with costs awarded against the ABC.
So now the ABC and its lawyers have to go back and redo their defence strategy and represent it to the court to see if the judge thinks it worth going to trial.
Could be a long an expensive process this one.

The ABC are taking the high moral ground on this, saying that they were dropping it to protect their sources. The ABC has dropped its defence in former special forces soldier Heston Russell's defamation case, to avoid having to comply with a court order to reveal the identity of a journalist's source.
An urgent court hearing took place on Wednesday to resolve the matter
Mr Russell launched legal action against the ABC — along with journalists Mark Willacy and Josh Robertson — over a story published on television, radio and online on November 19, 2021, which the former commando said implied he was involved in the death of an Afghan prisoner.
While the stories contained a denial from Mr Russell, he claimed they still gave the impression he was involved.
In February, Justice Michael Lee ruled the ABC had conveyed 10 defamatory meanings in the stories, including that, "Russell, as commander of November Platoon, was involved in shooting and killing an Afghan prisoner during an operation in Helmand Province in mid-2012".
The ABC had earlier sought to rely on a truth defence in its fight against the defamation action, but in May switched to a public interest test.
Another cool million plus damages claim flowing out of the ABC coffers, plus whatever costs their own legal team has incurred. In his judgment earlier this year, Justice Lee said while the identity of “Josh” was protected, it was “strange” as he was pictured in articles and footage of him was also aired on multiple television programs.
“Both articles record he does not want to be identified because he ‘fears retribution’,” the judgment, handed down in February, said.
“If those responsible for publication of ‘Josh’s’ photograph within the ABC though there was substance in ‘Josh’s’ fear of retribution, they must have assumed his potential assailants were a somewhat incurious and lazy lot.”
Mr Russell’s senior counsel contends the former commando is entitled to the unredacted documents regardless of the ABC’s withdrawal of their remaining public interest defence.
Lowe is doing what he is meant to. I wonder if the idiots realise that the other option is hurting everyone with tax raises and less govt spending.Another classic by the ABC, getting a narrative up and running.
From the article:Former RBA governor says Dutton 'silly to rule out' candidates from Treasury and Finance as next Reserve Bank head
As the government weighs whether to keep or replace Philip Lowe as RBA governor, Opposition Leader Peter Dutton says two key candidates from Treasury and Finance should be ruled out of the running.www.abc.net.au
While it has never been used, the government still has powers to override RBA decisions as a failsafe, though the reforms would remove that power.
Ministers have avoided making public comments on the Reserve Bank's decision to hike rates 12 times since May last year, and have backed Mr Lowe as he has weathered a storm of criticism for statements he made in 2021 that rates would not begin to rise until mid-2024.
I don't know what planet that observation came from, I would have thought someone would have picked up on that faux pas .
Not the only wrong call on interest rates: PM lashes RBA
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has taken a swipe at Reserve Bank governor Philip Lowe’s pandemic-era promise to keep interest rates low.www.smh.com.au
RBA interest rates LIVE UPDATES: Prime Minister Anthony Albanese ‘blame shifting’ is not a productivity plan, Angus Taylor says
Angus Taylor has accused Anthony Albanese of blaming the Reserve Bank to steer attention away from the government’s productivity plan; the PM criticised Philip Lowe’s 2024 rate rise prediction. How the day unfolded.www.afr.com
Albanese’s ‘less than subtle’ criticism of RBA Governor Lowe means he is ‘out’
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s “less than subtle” criticism of RBA Governor Philip Lowe at the Economic Outlook Forum on Friday means he is “out,” according to John Howard's former advisor Peter McGauran. His comments come as Australia faces another interest rate hike from the Reserve Bank...www.skynews.com.au
I just thought it was bending the truth, ministers have commented on the RBA and have criticised Lowe, so why say they haven't other than to make the focus of the story on Dutton.Lowe is doing what he is meant to. I wonder if the idiots realise that the other option is hurting everyone with tax raises and less govt spending.
The ABC has fessed up and admitted that it did have a Four Corners TV crew in on the protest at the private home of the Woodside's CEO.
The ABC has fessed up and admitted that it did have a Four Corners TV crew in on the protest at the private home of the Woodside's CEO.
But they deny there was any collusion.
yeah right, they just happened to turn up at the right time?
imagine if you will if Woodside had organised a protest at the home of one of the Teals, what sort of an outrage there would be.
When it comes to hipocricy, ya just can't beat the ABC .

So, one ABC journalist says he 'believed' that that the killing took place in June or July. That is obviously the standard of proof thats needed at the ABC.Mr Russell is suing the ABC, Willacy and journalist Josh Robertson over two articles published in 2021 which he says, through the use of links and his photograph, implied he was complicit in the execution of the prisoner, who was captured during a joint drug enforcement operation between Australia and the US.
Mr Russell is seeking aggravated damages and for the ABC to remove the article and stop repeating the allegations.
The Federal Court heard Robertson told Willacy he believed the killing took place in June or July but the ex-commando released a statement shortly after the article was published stating his platoon did not arrive until September.
Of course it wouldn't/ As the old adage goes, never let the truth get in the way of a good story. When Ms Chrysanthou asked Willacy whether it occurred to him after receiving that information from Russell that his story was “just wrong”, the senior ABC journalist replied “No.”
“It was my understanding, and I don’t know how Mr Russell seems to know that they operated in Helmand not until September, but it was my understanding they were there before that in August,” said Willacy.
