Abbott's carbon tax confusion

Re: Abbotts carbon tax confusion.

Not withstanding what joea pointed out... I can think of quite a few things I believed in 2009 that I have changed my mind on.

Why cannot a politician change their mind in light of new/better information?
Julia Gillard's new/better information.

Re: Abbotts carbon tax confusion

John Howard called elections when it best suited JH I am sure Gillard will be will be trying to do the same but given the current climate for Labor a lot will have to change before Gillard will voluntarily go to the polls for any reason.

Re: Abbotts carbon tax confusion

With all the hype put out by Swan at the Press Club today that we will all be better off under a carbon dioxide tax, let us see the details to substaniate his claim and have an independant economist, not a Labor Party stooge, analyse the truth.

I do not trust this Labor Government in what ever they say or do.

Another thing we never hear about from Gillard, Swan or Combet is the 10% of the collected CO2 tax that will go to the UN.

Re: Abbotts carbon tax confusion

Only too glad to help noco.

Prime Minister Julia Gillard's carbon tax will be used to allow Australia to meet its share of a $100 billion-a-year United Nations fund to transfer wealth from rich countries to help undeveloped nations adapt to global warming.

The Gillard Government is party to a UN agreement which Climate Change Minister Greg Combet entered into in December at a meeting in Cancun, Mexico, under which about 10 per cent of carbon taxes in developed nations will go into a Green Climate Fund.

Re: Abbotts carbon tax confusion.

And he doesn't actually think there is any serious problem with global warming anyway. So why waste energy actually doing anything about it ?

Global cooling is a bigger worry at the moment. Give me global warming anytime.
