A new possible Political party: "Centralists"

Rudd has his followers. Turnbull has his too. Both are centralists. They would get Labour voters that are anti-Gillard and pro Rudd, possibly almost half of the Labour voters are pro Rudd, would vote there. Half the Liberals are<according to ASF posters are soft Libs so they are for Turnbull. Then there are those that dont want to vote Labor and wont vote Liberal. Add those that are swinging greenies, voted there as a protest, dont like Abbott or Labor. Add all these together and I come up with a sum of around 50% would vote for them. Then for preferences. Labourwould preference Libs last and Libs would preference Labor last.

End result a Rudd- Turnbull government. One problem, who would get to be PM.

Back to the stocks, more productive.

Since the demise of the Democrats who espoused to, and were probably considered to be the middle of the road balancer between the Lib's and Labor, there has been a bit of a vacuum where people are more often torn between two extremes.

Probably a good time for a new political party representing the middle ground. Actually, at one point it looked like the coalition of independents (I think they may be more so in Qld) might formalise something more substantial.

Btw I think Turnbull would be happy to go deputy to Rudd who has more public appeal esp. from traditional labor.

I'm not sure that it's accurate to describe Labor and the Coalition as at either end of any extreme. They are little different in essence, other than in the way they conveniently change their 'policies' when they consider it politically expedient to do so.

I had a lot of time for the Democrats until Meg Lees stuffed them up.

What??? Mr Turnbull doesn't want to be deputy to anyone. He and Rudd would be like two cats in heat fighting over the tomcat.
