Re: 9.58

I could catch him on my motorbike....besides, he can't outrun a bullet.

Re: 9.58

heard Maurice Green on radio say he is not very good technically with at least 10 technical deficiencies in that race.

Imagine if he fixes those?

Re: 9.58

Will probably keep going faster until the masking drugs are caught up with.

Can only be suspiscious with such improvements.

.001 is like 10 mins off the marathon time.

Re: 9.58

I'm wondering how long it will be before they can run without their feet touching the ground.

Actually he is quite a good runner technically, alot better then most of the others in that race. He remains very smooth and relaxed. Most of the deficiences will be very hard for him to correct too much at this stage and if I was his coach I wouldn't be messing around with his technique too much.

I'm not so sure. His physical attributes give him a huge advantage. Not many athletes with his height have the leg speed and power that he has. If he ever gets in top shape and with the right conditions at the same time he could test the 9.5 second area.

I actually think he is a better suited to the 200m & I would love to see him have a crack at the 400m as well.

Re: 9.58

Mmm, can't help but think in a few years it will all blow out that he was on drugs.

Still mighty impressive though, half the time hes celebrating before hes even finished too, imagine how fast he'd be if he tried the whole way haha

Re: 9.58

Drugs? hhmmmm maybe.... but its more his physical make up - given the fact that he's about 6 inches taller than most other sprinters, its not surprising that he would be faster - his strides are so much longer - if you read about the science of running, its all about length of stride, foot to ground contact and stride frequency... but stride length is the killer

i read a comment by Dwayne Chambers saying Usain takes 41 strides, while he takes 43.

Re: 9.58

supreme champion..

great athlete, great performances and in time others will follow his unique running style and catch those times..

If there is 1 thing i have learnt in sport that is there is no right or wrong. Even if he ran like an octopus 9.58 is still the fastest ever so whatever the hell he's doing is right.

Not to take away for Mr Bolt running fast but perhaps our adulation should be reserved for someone more deserving ?

I'm not 100% sure Gandhi did a sub 10, but i am open to correction.
If he did well he sure has gone to the top of my batting order.!

Re: 9.58 - Usain Bolt

Usain Bolt is pretty fast alright. All the same, I reckon I could run away from him within 50 metres.

Good call. Gandhi could run a four minute mile, and he was a hell of a marksman.

So true Fishbulb, and you know when he did "pushups" he used to push the world down. So now how does Mr Bolt feel .

Re: 9.58 - Usain Bolt

I'd say he felt pretty inadequate darkside.

But if you ask me, this guy's the real hero

Chuck Norris destroyed the periodic table, because he only recognizes the element of surprise

Re: 9.58

Yeh, Green, Boldon, Bailey were all talking afterwards, completely amaized! Technical or not, basically and sometimes directly stating he is the best sprinter ever to put feet on a track.

It does strike me as a bit odd though how well all the Jamaicans are doing all at once, including the females. I mean, Powell beat Greene by quite a bit, .08 of a second, which is quite a bit considering the previous jumps in times.

I also think he could test 9.50 with the right conditions and on his day.

He used to run the 400 but apparently he was too lazy. I heard he is training for it again though. Doubt he could beat Johnson in it though, he struggled enough to just eek past the 200, so can't see him going past the 400 time.
