I did a search and found some threads about 3G or Mobile in general but they were not related to this issue.

I am having intermittent difficulty accessing ASF from 3G devices such as my iPhone or iPad through the Telstra 3G connections. Both devices can access ASF without issue through my home network, but away from home the ASF domain is sometimes not found. This will occur for a indeterminate period of time after which access will be fine for another indeterminate period of time. The error is:

Apache Server at www.aussiestockforums.com Port 3128

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I run a Home Network Gateway Wireless router in my house, it is powered by Telstra and their 3G network and I have never seen that message. It is connected to the Telstra 3G network 100% of the time.

I also use my smartphone, laptop and tablet and connect by wi fi to my network gateway router all without problems, cheers.

Yes I have trouble accessing ASF on iphone away from home. It is intermitent and sporadic, I never know from day to day whether I can get the page up or not.
There is no discernable pattern to it either.
Also using Telstra 3G.

Thank you both, and anyone else, who provides a response. It's appreciated to gauge whether I need to talk to Telstra, Joe, or both.

I also have intermittant problems accessing ASF from Telstra 3G. I never have the problem at home on ADSL.

It isn't a DNS problem.

I get the exact same thing off telstra 3g. Whats worse is that I can type out a large post and when I hit submit I get that message. Its weird because somtimes I can access asf and other times its out for hours.

I think that having a mobile device and moving about town a bit could cause drop outs or data loss. For example, lets say you are on the bus or train you are bound to change towers regularly, it might cause those error messages. Sometimes if I'm in the wrong building in the wrong corner I can't even get a GSM mobile signal. Wireless 3G isn't perfect with any network, I don't think it is just limited to Telstra. Mine is in my house and my PC and router stays put, that's probably why I don't have any issues. When there is heavy rain then that's another story, then everything claps out.

TCP port 3128 is typically used for HTTP proxies. That message indicates there is a proxy between you and the ASF website, and it may be misconfigured or misbehaving.

Check the proxy settings on your devices. They may have proxy settings that apply to 3G connections but not WiFi. If you don't have a proxy configured, it is likely that your traffic is being intercepted by a transparent proxy (hopefully Telstra's...).

Also, just out of interest, post the URL that's in the browser's address bar at the time you get that message.

Further info from my end.

From memory this problem has been occuring for around the 3 month range, give or take, and has never happened with any other website. Only ASF.

Same with me. Doesn't happen with any other website, just ASF. Has been working fine, so far, today though. Couldn't connect to ASF at one point yesterday though.

I forgot to mention that I can fire up my iPad/iPhone and not access ASF, try on my iPhone/iPad and might be able to access ASF from the same spot and time. Or both might work, or neither.

Weird.

I just browsed ASF via mobile, no issues.
