Call me a grinch but i cant stand xmas and all the hype, media crap etc surrounding it.

Whats worse is my gf lvoes it and wants to do all the xmasy stuff every single year :(

I love Christmas, absolutely adore it.

I love the commercialism, the parades, the decorations - all of it! We'll be going down to the Myer windows tomorrow actually, can't wait.

Christmas is such a fun time of the year, it's wholesome, pure, and just good clean fun. Most folk my age don't appreciate it much unfortunately; guess the only fun they're interested in is the dirty kind :p:

This year will be quiet but Christmas is still a festive period of giving, so I guess the general mood will be more upbeat than in October.

I cant stand christmas. My wife loves it and we have a 2 year old son, so i am forced to play smiley faces in december. Christmas now is based around a fat bloke in a suit devised by a large multinational beverage company and the idea that each year we must give something better than we got last year. When will people realise that it is not about the presents, but the family. Each year i tell everyone, i dont want a present just make a donation to a charity for me. but do you think people do. no way. but thats alright, im used to not getting what i want at christmas. like when i was young. a bike, did i get one..no, what about a guitar or drumkit...eh, no again, still havnt got any of them 30 years later. what is it when you tell someone you dont want anything they think you are being coy and then buy you something they think is brilliant but you think is useless... thanks for the golf clubs.. i dont even play!! The funny thing is no matter how much you drum into someones head dont buy me anything, they always will for fear that you got them something and they feel inadequate because the piece of paper that says, congratulations you purchased a new pillow and blanket to the homless guy by the beach just doesnt cut it as a gift.

Merry Christmas :santa:

Our family luv's all the festivities. Good time to catch up with news from friends etc as to how their year has gone & reflect on our own.
When my son was 8yrs some kids at school told him there was no Santa & he seemed a bit upset so I wizzed down to some horse stables Chrissy eve & got a bucket of fresh horse crap & put out with Santa's milk & carrots out the back Chris morning. That stumped him, reindeer poo, must be real. Look back now and can laugh. Bring cheer to someone.

When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the Pre-Christmas pressure.

Then Mrs. Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more.
When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out, Heaven knows where.

Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered.

Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drank all the cider and hidden the liquor. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of the broom.

Just then the doorbell rang, and irritated Santa marched to the door, yanked it open, and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas tree. The angel said very cheerfully, 'Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't this a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?'

And so began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree
