fair warningIn a departure from past comps, to make life easier for myself, I am only going to take into account the capital gains, so any entities that pay dividends will NOT have their prices adjusted to allow for dividends. Yeah, I'm lazy.
post in the thread of each of your entries detailing why you think the share price of each will increase in 2025
Stock splits/consolidations should not be a big deal for adjustments/fair warning
a strategy change ( for me ) is now being contemplated ( thanks )
wowee that makes selecting four reverse index ETFs , very tempting to the pessimists and bears among us
i did ask a question on the 2024 thread , about stock-splits and consolidations
Its too late. I am already crazy.... and thank you for taking over the comp. administration , i hope software glitches do not drive you crazy
well if we are determining the stock price , a stock-split of say one into ten new shares of say CSL will certainly confuse your algoStock splits/consolidations should not be a big deal for adjustments/

Nice one Mick. Much appreciated . Given my spectacular success in sweeping the floor in 2024 I will have to give careful consideration to how I can replicate a 34% loss across 4 choices yet again...Welcome to the 2025 Full Year Stock Tipping Competition fellow ASF members.
Firstly, thanks to @debtfree for taking this on originally, and keeping us updated for the past few years.
He is taking a well earned break.
I was reluctant to take this one as he set such a high standard, but as long as everyone accepts that the standards will be somewhat lower, all should be fine.
Because I was a bit late in taking this one on, thanks to a suggestion from @Dona Ferentes , the entries will close on Jan 13th.
Anyone who gets their entries in by Dec 31st will have a bonus picks in that they can change one and only one tock up until Sunday Jan 12th.
Thanks again to @Sean K for generously offering to donate the prizes, and sop I will keep them the same as the previous years comp.

The new stock must be nominated before the date the taken over stock ceases trading and the entry price of the new stock shall be taken to be the closing price on the day the taken over stock ceases trading. The replacement stock pick chosen will have its opening price on the day that the stock is choses adjusted to reflect the price increase or decrease of the original stock chosen Does that make sense?

In a departure from past comps, to make life easier for myself, I am only going to take into account the capita gains, so any entities that pay dividends will NOT have their prices adjusted to allow for dividends. Yeah, I'm lazy.

Mick
well div. yield is irrelevant this year ,I'm unsure how to go for next year's competition. I usually pick 3 stable stocks e.g bank, big miner or conglomerate and one stark raving mad runner which could explode on me or go to 100% gain. I notice members this year are letting their hair down and going for some interesting runners.
