There is a preopen "auction" which sees buyers and sellers jumping the queue to be in a better position to get their order filled on opening. I have often used it myself. If you get a detailed quote just before opening you will often see buyers offering more that the expected opening price. There is always the chance that sellers may up their price an you order may be filled at a higher price than you wanted but not higher than you offered. The same applies if you try to jump the queue as a seller.  It can't be used in the first minutes of trading . It must be used preopen. It is easy to check out.
